Did he think if he raised them he'd give a penalty away for handball on that 2nd goal?
He's a big bastard & I always thought the main art of goalkeeping was to make yourself big to narrow the angle? He had his arms by his side ffs!

How many times in that position did Schmeical or Spunk take one of those full ball in the face. Watch the replays and not only is his arm down (way too low) but he moves his head away from the ball too. Agreed that ball shouldve been dealth with way before that (and cahill fucks up twice in first allowing Suarez free, then when catching up with him not making any kind of tackle.

Thanks for commenting , I thought I was losing my mind there for half an hour. It's a damn sight harder to get a ball past a star shape than a stick?

Rules of goalkeeping 101:
Get off the line without exposure of being lobbed. Spread yourself like a whore!
That's what they taught me 30 years ago

That's what they taught me 30 years ago Said to my partner just after the goal last night that 15-20 years ago you'd see a breakthrough and with either those 2 in goal youd put you money 9 times out of ten on them to save it. Nothing against Hart, but he just isnt in the same league as them tbh. But again, im not going to jump on 1 player. Although it doesnt annoy me how the media dictates what people complain about after tournaments and things like this will be ignored to slam others

Hart isn't good enough that's clear but then again who should have been first choice? Foster? Ruddy? The lack of talent is just incredible

He definitely dived underneath it, the ball. Shocking IMHO,

Don't know if any of the others would be better on the international stage ,but Hart is very overrated

He bailed out, he should have at least closed him down one or two steps more, he didn't move or make himself big, it was a lazy attempt. Sums up the whole WC campaign so far ....

Don't know if any of the others would be better on the international stage ,but Hart is very overrated He runs around a lot with ball in hand looking frantic and shouts. He wants to give the appearance of confidence but it can't make up for lack of ability. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sure we have an option that's better but I'd like to see the progress Butland makes in the next four years.

True mate he also rushes out alot at opposition strikers to then realise he's stranded ala Ballatelli s chip which Jagielka headed off the line

Bad enough getting caught once but twice????? Either could have gone in as he flapped at both.
