Had a glance at this page as I was going thru my own personal "out" list for players in our club and was shocked at the fees adding them up with my "outs". Maybe this is old hat t some on here but doing the sums I was literally baffled. Loved Tone but thank god Hughes is now in charge, Slice of Redemption indeed for the pizza boys....: www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/stoke-city-transfers.html

Looking down the whole list, the most baffling thing is which daft arses bought Justin fooking Whittle off us for £50,000!?? Did they never actually see him play?

Hang on, that says we paid £3m for Kightly, but yesterday someone was saying we paid £2m for him. Which is it!?!

I bet Palace fans conna wait for this summers transfer window I think Stoke paid around £800,000 for Edu. Granted, it was £750,000 too much, but we didn't pay £4m.

The Pulis lovers will tell you £2m, £3m is probably the official figure.

Interesting to look at the signings and fees over the years. A fair few have got to be inaccurate though. Apart from Edu, I thought we paid around £3 mill for Butland and not £5 mill quoted. It's too simplistic just to add the disclosed fees up from each column and then subtract the totals. I'm sure Scholes would agree.

Well that renders that website useless then I thought I'd never heard that kind of fee bandied around when we signed Maurice.

I don't recall us signing David Jones either...

Most of these incoming fees are pure guesswork IMO. Sammy Bangura was our record signing at the time at around £900k but that list has him on a free transfer.

Interesting to see some of those names again but the research on actual fees isn't great. 2005/06 has us spending just £100,000 when Bangoura and Hoefkens cost upwards of a million combined. 2010/11 says we only bought in £1.5 million in sales when Tuncay's move to Wolfsberg was announced as €5.2 million. The fee they've got us paying for David Rowson is also extortionate.

Rangers should have given us money to get him off their wage bill. The biggest waste by far is Brek Shea. I don't think we will be able to give Mr Shea away without offering a sweetner.

Personally, I never believed the 4.7 million that Wolfsburg supposedly paid for Tuncay. I always felt that figure was somehow written in as an some sort of unrealistic conditional clause like them winning the league or something. A bit of window dressing because (for whatever reason) both clubs wanted to hide the actual amount.
