Who?
There's a fair chance Woy will be handed his cards if we tank in Brazil.
Does the next bloke have to be English?
We need a bit of a visionary. Brenton would be ideal but he surely wouldn't take it. Harry isn't a vision man, he's very much one for the quick fix. Who is there?

They won't sack Woy until the Euro 'qualis' are underway and they can make a proper assessment of England's progress.

The criteria for the next England manager should include:
Having good man management skills, including talking to players and explaining clearly in footballing terms why they haven't done enough to be selected in the next squad.
Having the balls to pick the best players for each position, not only the ones currently popular with the media.
Watching all top level English club sides. The excuse of thinking the Britannia Stadium has closed and merged with the Co-Op is not valid.
To not give the appearance of being permanently bewildered.

There's really only been two successful England managers, Ramsey and Robson, and Robson's record was not always that good, this is an indication of how difficult a job it is.
I think they will continue with Hodgson, whatever happens.
One guy I always thought would do well for England is Mark Hughes, successful with Wales and a good PL record.

I want to like Roy but his ubercaution worries me. We're so rigid and lifeless at times and he doesn't seem interested in the pressing and fluidity that the best teams at club and international level do so well.

I agree rob, think he comes third, certainly on the World Cup results.

There's a fair chance Woy will be handed his cards if we tank in Brazil. I thought he was very safe? Anyway, i'd go for Roberto Di Matteo, he can win cups easily.

Looking like we'll have to stick with Roy or go foreign if these are the best English options boys.

I'm gonna take some flak here mate but I'd go for Wenger You piece of... No but, seriously, I actually think he would be decent for England. But the reason the gooners have had a team of French speakers is because Arsene communicates far better with French/Belgian/old French empire players. One of the gooners biggest complaints is that their team has too many French speaking players when their is more talent from other countries available. Unless, you can send Wayne, Stevie G and others on a crash course in French, I think you are barking up the wrong tree?

To be fair, when he first arrived he turned Tony Adams into a ball playing centre half and Ray Parlour from a punchline into an England international. Ox seems to be developing nicely as well, even if Wilshere's regressed.

Would they consider handing it down to Gary Neville?
Although presumably if Woyden has a 'mare, G-Nev will also be tarnished in the subsequent shitstorm.

He's been in England for a long time now so there's no way he can't communicate in English well enough to manage a football team. Southampton are full on English players and they did well enough under a foreign manager who hadn't managed in the country before. I think if you gave Wenger the England team, he'd do very well with them. After all, he's used to managing with shit defences by now.

It probably should work like that, but it rarely does, as Teflon Tel showed after the wally with the brolly fiasco. Think the knives would be out from the get go for someone with no experience, but then they would be for anyone not named Harry Redknapp.

If Martinez was in Brazil now instead if Woy - I'd have more confidence that he'd pick the right team, so on that basis I'd be happy with him next.

After 20 years of the Premier League we have as poor an England team as I can remember (mainly the defence) and we still look to blame the manager ????? The PL was sold on the premise that it would make the England team better .......it hasn't.
