Haha if your being serious mate im gobsmacked! I mustnt be the only stokie who feels like this? I was crying tears of joy in the semi final and spend every spare minute on newsnow/stoke just like the next man,so i dont think its just a case of 'im less of a stoke fan' or anything, i just love england to win just as much I like to see England win, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it mildly amusing when we fuck up every 2 years..... Yeah I get that same amusement, it probably makes me a bad Englishman but I want them to do well but when they fail miserably, it is amusing.

When it's expected though, it's bloody hilarious isn't it? Annoying at the same time but you must giggle a little when we collapse for 10 millionth time......nah I thought not! It is funny though.

I always support England at cricket, tennis, rugby ....It's not so easy with the football team. Too many odious ppl attached to English football

Not with me. I get seriously pissed off when we lose a test match, yet I'm not that arsed about the football. Bizarre really.....

It's a strange one.
If you asked me would I prefer England to win the World Cup or Stoke to win the FA Cup, I'd say Stoke to win the FA Cup. But I still think back to the 1990 World Cup every so often and think "if only," in a way that I never do about our Cup Final.
Maybe I just cared about the England football team more then than I do now, and as a young kid, the World Cup always seemed like the ultimate prize in football. I probably just felt cheated at being too young as a two year old to know what was going on in 1966.

Can't you support a side but laugh when they fail? Our sporting history is all about the glorious failure. Harmison's first ball in the 06/07 series, that bad it's funny, no?
I am of the "if You don't laugh You cry school" mind.

I think you might be on to something there, maybe most people are just sick of getting their hopes up and being let down badly again and again! We've been hugely disappointing at too many world cups over the years

I'd like to see Stoke win the premiership and then play England and beat them every four years.

It would give me more pleasure to see Stoke Under 18s win a throw in than to see England win the world cup

Ok OP, to further question your loyalty:
Stoke Champions League or England World Cup?
Everyone else:
Stoke Premier League or shag any woman in the world whenever you want, including celebrities.

Stoke. As many have said, I find it a struggle to boo those wankers every week then get behind them for the World Cup. If Shawcross had been picked then it would be a far more difficult question, but I'm a Stoke fan every day of my life, I'm only an England fan every two years.
The post World Cup feeling across the country would be massive, but it would wear off, Stoke winning the Prem would be treasure for life.

Stoke all day long.
Makes me laugh how all the plastics come out when England play. As much as I would enjoy seeing them win the World Cup I can't help but smirk when the inevitable happens we crash out in the 2nd round and the local boozer is awash with tears ...

Stoke over England every single time. I think the majority of match attending fans would value their club over international, regardless of who they support.

I would actually say England, but only because for Stoke to win the premier league we would have to have been taken over and had billions spent ripping the soul out of the club. If it was with the current Stoke then Stoke every time.
