Yes, but Arnie is the playmaker isn't he? None of Diouf, Assaidi or Riviere can play the sort of role he has in our team. He's nominally a winger but he pops up all over the place. EDIT: I realise this concept is as difficult for you to grasp, March, as it was for TP! A play....... what? Is he the guy responsible for lumping the ball 80 yards up the pitch for Mama to head on? Seriously though, I am getting more concerned by the day that we are signing players now as a sweetener because it is becoming more clear that we are going to be selling some big names. Why have we just signed Stephen Ireland if Arnie is going to be playing his role? We NEED Diouf to come in to replace Crouch. We don't NEED to sign Assaidi nor Riviere, especially for the money being quoted. They are going to be bench warmers or new signings Odemwingie and Ireland will be bench warmers. Something doesn't add up here, I'm afraid. When has Arnie played the Ireland role? He hasn't. Arnie plays either left or right and Ireland central. They can move fluidly in a game so that may be why you are confused. We didn't have that fluidity under Pulis.

Sitting 9th in the Prem (and them 8th in Serie A) we are actually a better side at the moment! I'd like to think he'd stick around for another year, depending on what's on offer.

There is no truth in any of the rumours regarding him. The Milan rumour came from a dubious Swiss website with no evidence whatsoever to back up the claims. The Newcastle and Spurs rumour came from the Austrian equivalent of "The Sun" (which means it was made up to fill the column inches now that the season has finished). The Liverpool rumour came from "caughtoffside" which is basically a blog written by fans.

I hope this isn't going to be a summer of Arnie getting linked with a move. I for one can't wait to see him in a Stoke shirt again next season!

Clubs all over Europe are hunting desperately for better players.
Southampton have had a very good consistent season, and now the big boys are stripping them bare.
After maintaining a low profile all season, the big clubs have woken up to the fact that Stoke have changed playing style, taken some outstanding scalps, and finished 9th in the world's toughest national league.
So it is no wonder the big clubs are now scrutinizing Stoke's personnel and floating ideas on who they might want to pick up and testing the reaction. MH will struggle to hold on to his assets.

They can bollocks.
Good that our players are being noticed though, the last thing you want is no interest in your players because that would tell it's own storey

I think that Sparky will see Diouf, Crouch and Riviere, plus possibly Odemwingie as his options to play through the middle, with the last 2 plus Assaidi, Arnie and Walters (if he stays) as his options to play out wide. Arnie has got to be first choice to play out wide next season, looking to switch flanks and cut inside wherever possible.

Arnie seems happy at the club and theres no way Hughes will want to sell him.
Non starter for me.

I wouldn't expect him to move this summer. I think he knows himself that he needs a good, settled period somewhere and we can offer him that.

What a refreshing change for a player to Speek publicly about his future while the press are trying to turn his head gossiping about a big money move. My future is with stoke (quote the sentinel). Nice one Marko and it will only make the stoke fans love him more ( if that's possible ). The future does really look good . UP THE MIGHTY MIGHTY POTTERS.

Think it´s positive for Marko that Hughes was a striker.
