But Hughes picked him in over 30 games last season. How do you explain that? He had other options Not until Odemwingie signed he didn't. Assaidi, Pennant, Etherington (when he was fit). If he thought Walters was as bad as some of you think he would of fucked him off last August and kept Jerome. He still played regularly in the second half of the season when Odemwingie was here.

He still played regularly in the second half of the season when Odemwingie was here. Assaidi wasn't fit and isn't a right sided player, Pennant should never have been resigned, Ethers is a left winger and was never fit. We should have kept Jerome, Hughes fucked that one up for me. He played a lot less and his move to the bench "coincided" with us playing well.

Can we get over Walters he's past his sell by date now and has been for a while. Yes we all bang on about how he give 100% in every game but the problem is he cant find the back of the net. We are trying to progress as a club and with the quality of the new signings he is really of the pace. Time to say farewell and thanks for what he's done for us and helped us achieve but your not needed anymore.

John is not happy being a bit part player and having to play out wide.He wants to play up front and do his tracking back, well sorry John but it's time to move on then.I admire him for his attitude and wanting to play rather than warming the bench & picking up his money but he must realise that he just isn't good enough to play in that position for us .He is not a goalscorer and his only real qualities have dictated a position in the side where his running and defensive qualities have been used .He is a squad player for us and I doubt any prem side would play him in his favourite position. Come on John take a reality check please.

But I agree, we are progressing and i don't think we need Walters in the starting line up. I think Walters could be a usefull squad player, based on last season Hughes possibly thinks the same, but if he can leave for first team football then good luck to him.

But Hughes picked him in over 30 games last season. How do you explain that? He had other options And when there was no choice but replace him due to his ban we won 3 on the bounce in reasonable style. Coincidence?

I'll give my two-pence worth on this subject, and leave it at that.
One of the main criticisms made by many on here against Jon, is that he's got limtied ability and simply works really hard and runs about at lot which isn't good enough. I don't disagree with that. However, the torrent of criticism in undue in my opinion, as there's been hundreds more down the years, who've neither had the ability OR the hard work and gotten away from criticism far lighter than Jon has.
At the price we paid, and the miles we got out of him, I'd say we got fair value for money and he did ok for us. If it's time to move him on, then I wish him the best and he goes with my thanks.

If he can't get onto the pitch during the Villa and Hull games, you'd have to think he never will.
He was sitting there during 2 pretty incredibly dysfunctional performances waiting for the call, and for it not to come at any point (with Moses still to be added to the mix) is a pretty powerful message about where he stands.
I'd be surprised if he was still here come the Man City game. I think he knows the way the wind is blowing and will want out.

Agree with Moses and Ireland to come there's got to be a reshuffle on the bench. Can't see Adam or Crouch losing their bench spots infact both are pushing for starts.
