Only 24 days to wait.
Think we'll get QPR early on?
Mr. Hughes may take a bit of flack at Loftus Road.
Let's hope he has his players fired up and organised to do his bidding for him on the field of play.

Seems earlier than usual!
How do they do it these days, is there any random element at all or are they constructed?

Would be interesting to see the permutations and combinations that go into the system. They have to be split for policing (i.e. Man Utd and City cannot play on the same day) but other than that I assume they are random.

First game will be at home and that's all I'm offering as I know nothing else I agree last 2 seasons we have started with away games so we will most surely be at home this coming season. I predict a top 6 side to open with this year.

Im thinking they'll have sort it out with the football league as well. Cant be having two teams in the same city playing at home.

I'd bet a testicle that if a random generator gave the top six playing each other over the first six weeks, they'd just click "refresh" and we'd never ever hear about it.

Good call. I expect they will be very jittery, "new side", team and manager and owner under huge pressure from over expectant fans who will expect Newcastle to win easily after last season's result and will be on the players backs if things don't go their way straight away. Alternatively a top side away, to catch them unready (Liverpool again will do!). If Stoke don't get result no harm done.

It's best to get a promoted team at home early on.
Chances are that they may not have sorted out their squad or fully acclimatised to the Premier league during the first few weeks of the season. Remember how easily we picked Burnley off when they came up last time? Also, Palace were pretty hopeless when we beat them 2-1 last season. I'm sure if that fixture had been played later in the season we'd have had a hell of a battle to get the points.
Getting them away is a different matter as the ground will be absolutely rocking.

Great read that Salop, did not realise so much went into formulating them. I wonder if it is the same bloke who holds the fort nowadays?
