But the club now believes he no longer acts as an agent for his son, while Nzonzi himself has said nothing since stating towards the end of last season that Stoke City now matched his ambitions in the game.

not as large of a loss as it would have been in seasons gone by if he does go.

As a postscript to that article, what a fantastic job Wilson did for us last year. We never realised Huth would miss the season at first, and if we'd known right away most of us would have shat ourselves.

I rate Nzonz as a player when he is on his game... But I think we should let him go now, it's not the first time he has tried to hold the club hostage regarding his future.
I don't believe his father could put in a transfer request without his sons blessing. Nzonzi either wants to move or is trying to get a pay rise... Whichever it is, I think he needs to go.

As great as he has been (specially the second half of last season) I won't be too arsed if he packs his bags and pisses off. We've had this on numourus occasions where bigger players think the grass is greener elsewhere. Thing is no one who has left Stoke (talking over the last 20yrs) has really gone on to bigger things, maybe with the exception of Stein and Griffin (whom both ended back up at Stoke once things died down)... Kavanagh, Thorne, Akinbiyi, Halls, Hoefkins, O'Conner,Thomas, even Commons (who's since slowly climbed upwards from league one) ect; all fan favourites who all left to do better and ended up nowhere... Morale: Leaving Stoke only fcuk's your career up

Why anybody is saying we should sell him is beyond, especially if it wasn't him that wanted to leave in the first place.

"Hughes is now keen to stamp on any restlessness to avoid a repeat of last summer's spectacle in America when Nzonzi was subbed during a pre-season friendly after seeming to give up."
I dont remember hearing about that? what a moaning French tosspot

If Nzonzi really wanted out, surely we would have heard lots coming from him about leaving since the story broke. As we haven't I'm not sure he does want to go, he was playing with a smile finally so the email seemed a strange one. I hope it is all bollocks and he and his brain are ready to start the season

He clearly stated he was happy straight after the Albion game, he's never given any credence to his father's email nor have the club.

Let's end all this, give him a new contract. If he is one of the low earners at the club then he has a right to want more money IMO as he is one of our most valuable assets.

Stoke fans in massive overreaction shocker. Why is it with N'zonzi, as soon as the slightest noise is made by the press, so many can't wait to claim the need to 'fuck him off' because he thinks he's better than the club?
It's quite amazing that some supporters have such high standards that as soon as something is mentioned, the correct, and only decision becomes to get rid of one of our best players.

Well he does have a bit of a track record on handing in transfer requests. He handed one in at Blackburn - before they got relegated, I think. He handed one in last year at Stoke. And his dad (purporting to be his agent) handed one in last month. So its hardly surprising that a few are getting impatient with him. But, if it is true that his dad no longer acts for him and he is indeed happy to stay then fine, I don't think most of us will argue with him staying.

I tend to treat an N'Zonzi transfer request a bit like a kid with tourettes who shouts "wanker" in the middle of Boots. You know he means no harm, it's just a reflex action, and 15 minutes later, it's like it never happened.

If we put him on the hugest contact we pay and he stays for 2 years I'd be fucking delighted.
We won't get a fee which he should demand, and we won't get anyone anywhere near his level for what we'd get for him.

My point is that I am listening and what I read is that you seem to be making a statement as opposed to expressing an opinion. This can be misleading and some could make the assumption that you have inside knowledge and so it goes. 'I don't think he will leave this Summer' puts a different spin on it.
