Generally, it's good to have the grass cut to give the impression of lines going across the pitch, which helps the linesman with offsides. Goodness knows what Southampton's bloke was thinking.

Any chance that those circles have hypnotised Roy into thinking he's actually their manager?

Any chance that those circles have hypnotised Roy into thinking he's actually their manager? He doesn't need to be hypnotised as Ralph Krueger will be waiting at the airport to sign him up at the end of June as England return pointless from the WC.

What a surprise we saw Woy at the Southampton home match! Does he live there? Hopefully. They've got the best crop of young English talent in the Premiership.

It's at Hodgson's request so his Southampton inspired wanks have a bit of variance.

I seem to remember the Stoke groundsman being praised for that effort, at the time!

One of the Saints groundsmen looks after the bowling green that I use so I will ask him when I see him tomorrow.

The circles were cut by Stokes then groundsman Eddie Hartley probably assisted by his son Derek, Eddie was at Luton Town before that and was always good for a few Eric Morecambe stories

The lawnmower did a great job, and was fifth in Roy's pecking order of centre-backs, only for John Stones to come from nowhere and steal its place on the stand-by list.
