Who would be surprised - I think Roy is having relations with half the Southampton team for the amount of time he spends there.
Criminal that he hasnt even been to watch us at any point this season - Shawcross or Crouch.

Manure have apparently just tabled a 28m bid for Luke Shaw so obviously Woy is going to select him for the World Cup. Manure also wanted to sign Leighton Baines which obviously means that Ashley Cole misses out.
Not that I give a shit!
England could play all 3 left backs, fielding 13 players in the process and they'd still be shit.

Best left back in England by a mile suspect you could easily pick a team to bear England from the ones that dot. Go
Butland , Richards shawcross lescott , cole my back 4

Crackers.
He'd still be starting for me. And if Baines gets injured, You've got to rely on an 18 year old, Glen Johnson or maybe John Flanagan. All when You could have had one of the best left backs of the best 10 years. Bonkers.

I don't get the impression a disgruntled Cole would be a "good tourist". Shaw's energy and pace could be a good weapon to introduce late on too?

And he would be my starting left back, not that many will agree but Baines in an England shirt doesn't do much for me. Bar scare me shitless.

Having some arseholes amongst the shadow squad can be a real problem. By contrast, Shaw will be as keen as mustard and easy to manage

I just think it's tokenism.

I'm with you Bayern. As much as I despise the twat and as much abuse as I've given him on his numerous visits to the Brit, Ashley Cole has been England's only genuine world class player for many a year.
Less lauded than the Lampard's, Terry's, Gerrard's and Rooney's of this world yet the one player who would genuinely get into almost any team in the world, domestically or internationally.
He is infinitely superior to Leighton Baines even now.

One of England's best players at the last few tournaments. Rarely put a foot wrong in an England shirt.
But youth is the fashion at the moment so expect Woy to be on trend in Brazil this summer. Even if it is to the detriment of the squad.
Hopefully the Italians will catch this fetish for youth and drop the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Buffon, Chiellini etc. in favour of a couple of youngsters from Verona.
I should add though that this situation could change rapidly if the press rally behind Cole, then expect to see him make the squad.

I don't care who goes as long as Ross Barkley is in.
Genuine World Class talent that needs this World Cup to really blossom.

Am told Milner, Barkley, Lampard all inI was in favour of leaving Lampard out, but I think his form has been better than Carrick's this season so he probably deserves the nod as Gerrard's understudy; the deep-lying old head in midfield pulling the strings etc.

Shaw defensively is poor, going forward great, baines is similar, someone with cole's experience would be vital against uruguay and italy, not surprised by roy though.

Carrick's been a very underrated player for years and should have won far more caps than he has. However, he's 33 now and on his last legs. Cleverly has just never been good enough, and never will be.

I would struggle to remember the last time Ashley Cole let down the national side.

We have bob hope so we might as well blood some youngsters. I would say Ashley Cole is probably one of the few players we have though that (at a push admittedly) could be considered world class. The fact that Ancelotti tried taking him to PSG and Real suggests that he is a good player. I don't like this attitude that is forming that we're writing off the tournament before it's even started and that we're expected to treat is a mere proving ground for a few kids. We should be taking our best players regardless of age. We should be going to there to win the tournament however absurd a notion it may seem.

Can't disagree. 10+ years of really great performances.
But I think people are entitled to wonder about him when his absolute No.1 fan, who has always championed him, selects a right-back in his place for 4/5 of the season.
Quite rightly, it's made Woy dubious, and a couple of decent end-of-season performances haven't been enough to edge him ahead of a player who's clearly being viewed as the guy who's potentially going to be the left-back for the next 10 years?

I wonder if he'll pick England's best centre back, or settle for various dross picked from Man Utd, Cardiff etc.
I would have been tempted to build the team around the Liverpool players had they gone on and won the league, because of the sheer momentum they would have taken into the tournament. As it stands, it's quite an awkward situation because they've been absolutely flattened by their late surge and even later failure.

Only doubts may be Jones with his shoulder - and the Lambert/Carroll debate. But maybe you would fancy Lambert to edge Carroll out. Big , daft Andy hasn't exactly built his case Maybe he will take just the one RB with the others in the squad who can cover so he's got flexibility further forward
