Indeed. Stay solid. Just like everyone did from day 1 under the last manager. Anything else is unacceptable.

Can you say the same, Crown?* *Rhetorical if you didn't realise

There will always be one moaning and miserable bastard when a bad spell happens, I think that is inevitable.

I hated Pulis, until he signed up for Palace and we we were rid of him, backed Hughes all the way. Clever bitch

when we start to go through a sticky patch next season, show a bit of patience and dont start shouting for Hughes' head like a bunch of girls Thats all It'll never happen. The tarts will be back. This board never ceases to amuse. Around the turn of the year we were being warned by some that 38 points or even 40 was the MINIMUM which would be required to have a chance of staying up. In fact we are "warned" about this "fact" pretty well every season. As is the case most years, it was wrong - 34 points was what was needed for safety this season, or 33 with a decent goal difference. The confident predictions about our relegation usually start in early August, reach a minor peak when the transfer window closes and then surface each time the club loses 2 games in succession! When our little band of Cumbrian Stokies is driving home from a match, we have over two hours to chew the fat and discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of what we have just witnessed. One thing which we acknowledge after a defeat - even if that defeat has followed a great run of results - is that certain posters on the Oatie will be in suicide mode by the time we get home. Every defeat for Stoke is accompanied by some comments alleging that we would not have lost under Pulis/Macari/Waddington (delete as appropriate) or that the defeat would have been heavier under Pulis/Macari/Waddington (delete as appropriate) and of course there is always the old politician's post election claim that a defeat (or a big win) would not have happened but for the legacy left by the previous manager. Whenever the club makes a financial statement, the glass half empty lobby has its ammunition at the ready. If we have made a loss - this is down to rank bad management - sack the board - or, alternatively, the figures are rigged as a part of some elaborate tax scam! If we have made a profit, then the Coates family are lining their pockets at the expense of the poor down trodden long suffering fans. If we have broken even, then the owners are fools - do they not realise that they have to speculate to accumulate? Football fans are great aren't they?
