Excellent to hear. He's one of my favourite players and still relatively young. He seems to get better and better.
If he keeps his head screwed on next season then we will be in a great position.

I wouldn't say that fills me with unreserved confidence that he will be here next season, but he does seem happy.
Definitely one of our star players and someone who would actually command a decent transfer fee, should he decide to leave.

My view is that it's essential we keep hold of him, our set up is built around Nzonzi and Whelan, both have been immense for us this season.

He's a class act. Has changed his game a lot but still knows when to keep possession.

His attitude has been suspect along the way, however he's produced on the pitch time and time again and now seems happy settled.
Holding onto him for at least another season could be massive...

Hes a proper footballer I love to watch. Always seems to have time on the ball and find space, the signs of a class player.
He will never be a "legend" here because of his strops and general moodiness, but actually he is one of my favourite players

Zonz and Whelan have been so influential for us in the 2nd half of the season and sorting his attitude out has really done wonders. i think they have both strived under the responsibility of looking to control the midfield and the tempo of the game. Since Hughes has encouraged him to move the ball forward more and push up to support the front 4 we have looked very strong on the attacks and the extra player in support makes such a difference. The 3rd goal against fulham was quite superb and an absolutely great decision from him to take the ball out himself, allow arnie get a head of steam up before playing a sublime ball through. Its the kind of responsibility and great play that you'd associate with Yaya Toure

N'zonzi (and Whelan for that matter) were always going to look better players and more ambitious passers of the ball when they had pace and mobility ahead of them.
Odemwingie and a fit Arnie have transformed our team and have helped some players, namely N'zonzi and Whelan, show what good players they are.
I hate to say I told you so, but with Werrington, that was a drum we banged last season and this season.
N'zonzi is an excellent player as is Whelan.

the guy has always oozed class
the problem with stoke is that too many fans expect headless chickens or that they live in the past and try to compare to previous great players but we forget that different era's and different styles

Good to hear this. I believe this lad is another that can become a Stoke City great. If he can get the belief in himself, he can go on to be a superstar for us!

Encouraging post-match quotes. He's ended the season playing really, really well. Off Site“I’m really happy at Stoke and I want to be here for a long time. We are progressing as a team, and we can achieve even more than we have this season.”

If we could just add goals to his game then he would be a monster of a midfielder.
