With Fulham's demise we're now in the top 10 Prem survivors (unbroken seasons) - not too much to hope Sunderland and Villa are relegated next season is it?
Also love this from the otherwise number dominated page you linked to H:
Arsenal were "elected" to the Top Flight in season 1919-20 and remain the only club since the formation of the Football League in 1888-89 who never earnt their place on merit.

Football's a funny old game, someone once said, and this thread reminds me of of this.
Can anyone really believe that at the end of the 90's Manchester City and Stoke City played in a game that saw them both relegated to League 1, leaving Port Vale still in the Championship.
Now City, with the highest paid group of players in the world, and about to become Champions of the PL for the second time and Stoke going from strength to strength, having been in a cup final and Europe. In the meantime Vale have spent years in the very bottom league and been in administration twice.
It's clear from this, that money is the key issue in a clubs standing, but the puzzle to me is why Stoke and City ever got themselves in that situation back in the 90's.
Clearly though, getting back to the original subject, Stoke's survival in the PL has to be down not just to money but the skill and dedication of the people running the club.

Thanks for posting the link! I'll update the Table just as soon as I know who the play-off winners are and after Norwich's relegation is confirmed. Stoke have deservedly cemented their place in the Top Flight.

IMO the difference between successful organizations and unsuccessful ones is the people* (plus a bit of luck). *everyone in the organization
