Is he on loan at Cardiff or did he sign permanently? Should he be one we are looking to bid for in the summer? Would be a great acquisition to have alongside Ryan.

Let too many goals in against Toon, forget him, even Ameobi scored!

he's solid at the back for cardiff, would be a great signing for stoke, we definitely need cover at center back, i would be in for lescott if i was sparky because he brought him in at man city so no reason why he wouldnt want him again for cheap cos he's doing nothing at city

I don't know whether he just looked really exposed in a dreadful Cardiff side or not but every time I've seen him he's looked really poor. How he gets in the England squad I don't know.

Would be a fantastic, if unlikely signing. There are some odd comments on this thread, it's a funny old game.

I don't get the Caulker love-in. He's a really good athlete and much in the Smalling mould, strong and aerially competitive. His overall defending is poor though and he has a poor understanding of the game as well for me. Spurs obviously felt the same when they pushed him out of the door in favour of Zeki Fryers.

We don't need central defenders we need a right back,or even 2, which then frees up Geoff Cameron as another cover for central defence.

yh wud at least have a chat with him. think with our defence with him he'd be solid cus theres no guarantee huth will be the same player after this injury and caulker was pushin for a england place this time last year. would also enquiry about campbell

Thought he looked decent when he played for Swansea and Spurs and, to be fair, pretty much the whole Scumdiff side are a bit wank (bar him, Marshall, Medel and Mutch)

Yeah, he'll come to Stoke to consolidate his fledgling England career . Or an outside bet says he'll go to Man Utd as a long term replacement for Rio or Vidic.

He would probably cost the 8 million they bought him for a year ago and I really can't see us spending that on a centre back. We'll only spend that kind of money on a forward if at all I would have thought. He is a decent centre back however and I'm sure there will be interest from clubs with bigger budgets.

I'd prefer we go for someone different.

Id definitely make an enquiry for Caulker. Its harsh to judge him on this season considering the absolute circus he had to play in under that idiot Tan.

I just don't think he's a priority
1) Because he'd cost big money and be on big wages. 2) Because we already have Ryan, Marc, Muni, Huth and potentially Teixera and that's not even including GCam and Eric who can play there too. 3) We have bigger needs elsewhere STR, RB, WING and CM cover. 4) FFP won't allow us to spend so big. We need to be canny.Spending 7m and 70k a week isn't being canny.

I think we have got adequate cover at CB. Realistically our priorities have to be a striker (who can also play wide)and a "natural" right back.
If we got those 2 right I think it would improve the team.

If we get some decent cover loans at CM and WING then well have done well.

Sensible wages, good age, still developing. Could play wide right, but also cover wide left and behind a front man. If I was greedy, I would also take Leroy Fer on a double swoop!
