Do you think that we should start Crouch v Jonas Olsson for the game on Sunday? I would think that Odemwinge will be keen to prove a point I expect Ryan to return, and 2 of Muniesa, Pieters and Wilson to be in there alongside him. West Brom creating some chances at the moment v Arsenal , especially Berahino, although they are looking vulnerable on the break Thoughts?

Same team apart from Ryan in for Cameron.
Let's give Muniesa another game at centre back and see how Wilson fares at full back.
These are the sorts of things we need to know for next season.

I reckon Hughes played Odemwingie knowing him and Assaidi's pace would cause issues - Fulham were likely to be chasing at some stage of the game due to their circumstances, so with pace you can just pip them off. It was a good team selection for that particular match.
It could be more business as usual perhaps for the West Brom game, although I haven't really had my eye on West Brom much this term so wouldn't really know what would be more effective, pace or the link up play Crouch would provide.

This one - by a mile. Smudge is the work Rivals are doing this weekend going to result in their board becoming anything like this one as far as the functions are concerned? Or will it be back to the same tired old format on Monday? I'm in complete agreement there march.

Olsson is slow, turns as quick as milk, and is prone to a rash challenge or 2. Always seems far too amped up to be a reliable CB. I work with some Baggies fans, and they find him infuriating. They are also a lot more direct these days (more so than us anyway) so id say more of the same please. Think we could rip them a new one with the front 3 from yesterday. Question is can Les get them as game for it as he did our last home game. A nothing match away on the last day isnt going to be full of hard challenges and battles lets be honest. Albion will be in party mood regardless after surviving another season.

I'd bring Shawcross back in and swap Ireland for Adam for this one, otherwise keep it the same. I can see the merits in playing Crouch against Olsson but this is a different Stoke now. We'll get far more joy playing Odemwingie, Arnie, Assaidi and Ireland/Adam. If we play te same counter attacking game we did against Fulham having these players running at the likes of Olsson and hopefully Lugano will cause them all sorta of problems and I'd fancy another rout ala Villa.
Begovic Cameron Shawcross Wilson Pieters Whelan Nzonzi Assaidi Adam Arnautovic Odemwingie
Bench:
Sorenson Muniesa Wilkinson Palacios Etherington Walters Crouch
Is Guidetti injured or something? If he is injured I can't see why he's still here, may aswell go back I Citeh.

Muniesa for Shawcross, keep the rest unchanged - although I quite like March's suggestion.
BTW Bring Crouch on or play him and it's his 100th game for us. Or 100th league game.

Shame about Assaidi. WBA will be a tougher nut to crack than Fulham; they looked quite useful against Sunderland in the second half and if they continue in that vein could be quite a challenge for Stoke. My current feeling is this match could go the way of the Cardiff match. Before the Fullham match I called for MH to try something different which he duly did. (They must be reading this stuff!) I expect Crouch will be back in, but WBA defenders can manage him I think so maybe MH should try something different again. What about: keep the same back line and play Ryan up front? (I'm now going shopping with the wife to avoid the flack.)

Possibly we could benefit by going back to a more direct Pulis ball style of play for this game, it has worked well for us against them for the last 10 years, obviously a weakness of theirs so could pay dividends ?

A good chance to get 50 points but even a draws wouldn't be bad as we then beat the previous total of 47.

Begovic Pieters Shawcross Wilson/Muniesa Cameron N'zonzi Whelan Walters/Odemwingie Adam Arnautovic Walters/Odemwingie.
Thought we played really well on the floor last week and think Walters is more likely to continue that than if we had Crouch in the team. Whether he plays on the wing or up front I'm not quite sure though. Plus a nice reward for the goal he scored.

If we play as we did against Fulham, West Brom 0-3 Stoke Unfortunate that Assaidi is out, but I'm sure wingie and arnie will terrorise them just as much.

Mel provides update on six players PEPE Mel has received mixed injury news ahead of Sunday’s final game of the season against Stoke (ko 3pm). Liam Ridgewell is back in training after missing the last three games due to the knee injury that forced him off in the dying minutes at Manchester City. Morgan Amalfitano was rested against Sunderland on Wednesday – the second of three Albion games in a week – while Jonas Olsson was not risked from the start against the Black Cats and was an unused substitute. But both players are available to face the Potters. The Baggies will be without injured trio Billy Jones and Zoltan Gera (both hamstring), and Steven Reid (groin). If you win and Newcastle (as seems quite possible) lose, you'll finish up in ninth place: would that be your best PL finish?

Incidentally: best of luck today (not that luck should come into it). I'm looking forward to seeing City play you next season, and I'd love us to end up in a position, as you are today, where the final match of the season is just about position and not about relegtion.

Setting the alarm for 2am then. Watching the lads secure 9th is way better than being conscious for my morning classes. No way I'm missing the last game of the season.
3-1 Stoke, Odemwingie to get a brace, Arnie with the other after setting up the first 2.
What a time to be a Stokie.

Forgot to add my XI, considering Assaidi is out.
--------------------Bego Cameron Shawcross Wilson Pieters -------Muniesa-------Nzonzi ---------------Ireland Arnie-----------------------------Odemwingie -------------Lanky Pete
Definitely harsh on Glenn Whelan, but Im keen to see Muniesa in a midfield role. Adam to come on for Ireland if we aren't producing.
