Very very happy with SJW in the role of super sub. It seems to suit him!

Me too.
He is always going to look better in a situation where he hasn't had to flog himself to death game after game after game chasing hoofed balls aimed in his general direction whilst also being expected to cover the centre halves.

Been fantastic when coming on in the last games! I want him to stay now! Certainly a great impact player!

So glad mark Hughes has sorted the situation out for Walters when he was playing of late he really pissed me off and the team is much better without him from the start he was not good enough and still is not good enough but more use off the bench. He has had his good uses for stoke over the years and his spirit helps the dressing room but I think he will be more loved from the bench than starting and annoying the fans with his in ability to take easy chances due to running around like a carthorse.

Comes on and after only a few minutes to get into the game produces a finish like that. Slightly contradicts a lot of 'experts' who reckon he cant play the game.

I thought that he took that chance brilliantly today not long after coming on. In the last couple of games others have missed far easier chances. I still think that he has a role to play at the club and that he is a very useful player to have in the squad.

Opening a can of worms with this one but some of our best performances this season have come when Walters wasn't in the team, he was quite clearly knackered and the crowd were ever increasingly getting on his back after a catalogue of important misses, so in a way his red card was a blessing, Walters got the rest he needed, and we got the attacking changes we all wanted.
A fully fit Walters coming off the bench is a useful tool, he can run for days which is always handy when a game is stretched in the last few minutes, and now he's had a chance to rest up after 100+ consecutive games, he looks more clinical when he comes on, as we've seen today, I think super sub is the role for Walters from now on.

Almost identical to his finish at Swansea, wasn't it?

He had a great impact on the game. Excellent squad player and super sub for me easily next season. I'd keep him for his engine and attitude. What a finish, by the way. Seems a different man with some rest in his legs doesn't he... I'd like to think Walters and Geoff could be our super subs next season. I really do. But more importantly... Charlie's pass... Ohh dear that was lovely..

His movement today was excellent, was pulling their CBs all over the pitch.

We've had this discussion before and I was very dubious about him as an impact sub, even though I like the lad a lot with his character. Very happy to be proven wrong. He looks a different player coming on against tired legs and it suits him.
Quite ironic though really, when you sit back and think about things.

Walters is not and has not been a bad player. I think been dropped for a game or two has helped sharpen him up a bit and subconsciously drawn out that extra 10%

Must be a bastard to play against after 60/70 minutes when you're getting tired. Bring on John Jack Russell Walters. Great finish. I'd have missed that.

If he is not a starting 11 in the manager's mind, I am not sure Walters is the type of chap who will happily sit on the bench and play a bit part, albeit, important role
