1) We do play long ball football
2) We are not the worst footballing side in the league
3) Most stoke fans would like us to play a more passing game
4) Most stoke fans are quite happy for us to play as we are if it means promotion
5) Peter Coates is perfectly happy for us to play as we are if it means promotion, and none of us are going to change his mind
Personally I find our current football very exciting , but i admit that if we frequently put together slick passing moves i'd find the goals extra sweet. As far as our play goes i'd say we never mess around with the ball in our own area which is where the hoof comes in. Bristol were guilty of it at least as much as us in the game against us. Playing along the floor is generally restricted to the (right) wings, although Whelan was spreading quite a few passes around against ColU (most of the recieving players, mainly cressie and dicko were not alive to them though - blame that on who you like). In our poorest performances of the season we have been as bad as people say (Hull at home on new years' day for instance), but these have been in the minority, as the table shows.
When it comes down to it I prefer substance over style, but both would be nicer. It really is hard luck for the style over substance fans, but you'll just have to be patient and weather it out, not too difficult if next week goes alright, at least you'll see the beautiful game a few times a season.
hopefully promotion will mean that in the furture we might have the resources to play more attractive football. Clearly this will not be under the guidence of TP.

I'll say one thing for fuckwitinell he has managed to close the divide between people who like and don't like Pulis, because we can agree on one thing, fuckwitinell is a stupid twot.
