its more likely to be someone young as in the article it mentions being back up for a bit then maybe going out on loan ... would be senseless to send a 33yr old out on loan
I reckon i could be Sidnei as he's only 24 and in the benfica reserves so would be open for a move

Last time there was this much secrecy around a trialist centre half, it was to stop other clubs getting wind of just how good Sergei Shtaniuk was. A similar result would be nice

Brazilian CB's currently playing in Portgual - hereEDIT - Don't read too much into the ratings, they're just in the FIFA game, show's who they are though. Is it just me, or did anyone else think that VinÃcius looks just like a brazillian Danny Higginbotham in that pic on that site?

C/O Jase from SL&P:
Little update on our Brazilian trialist mystery. From the information we've been given he's based in Slovakia, and alongside the £400k price tag and rough age of early 20's admin Ross has had a huge internet search to narrow it down to 2 players. So from the research the 2 he's found are Victor Gava and Ramon Rodriguez Da Silva.

Sentinel says he's "spent much of his life in Central Europe" so that would seem to rule out Gava

Seems the club that Da Silva played for finished 3rd in the Slovakian League last time around which isn't bad, all things considered.

Ramon doesn' seem to have spent too long in C.Europe either. Seems to have had a spell as a youngster at AZ Alkmaar without breaking through, before playing a handful of games for a minor Brazilian club before ending up in the arse end of nowhere in the middle of Slovakia in 2012. Certainly a colourful, if nondescript career.

New face in the cabin of first-team AS Trencin is Ramón RodrÃguez da Silva. Twenty one year old Brazilian defender used to play for Dutch AZ Alkmaar. He is visiting AS Trencin for few days testing. "My manager is familiar with the owner of the club Mr. La Ling, who offered me this opportunity. I came here to show my best qualities," said young footballer and add something about himself: "Although I´m playing on position of defender, but I can also jump right to the post of right defender. I think I am excel in speed and heading. I am more focused on the defense than offensive attacks." Ramon used to be out of game for more than one year because of injury of his front sacral ligament of knee. He is getting today his new chance to continue their professional career. "I am already OK and looking forward to the start of winter training." Before Ramon’s arrive in Trencin he found out that team of AS Trencin is very young and perspective. He got very comforted by news about presence of several players from South America. "I did not get chance to know Slovak Republic yet, but what I have seen till now I like very much." He came to Alkmaar nearly three years ago. "In Brazil scouted me Louis van Gaal, who, however, shortly after my arrival went to Bayern Munich. Then unfortunate injury came along, therefore, I played only the second league," said Ramón. www.astrencin.com/spravy/index.php?clanok=2238

If it is Ramon Da Silva, he was in Slovakia two days ago according to his Facebook and not at the Britannia Stadium.

Third name to consider is one 'Dionatan Teixeira'. Brazillian-born, 21 year old 6ft 4" centre back playing in Slovakia (represented Slovakia at Under-21 level) and formerly of Manchester City academy.

Think you've hit the jackpot with that one, Miniman. Dionatan TeixeiraThat fits perfectly with spending "much of his life" in C.Europe and the Hughes/Man City link. That'll be him.

Wow, that's a seriously obscure signing. MH must have spotted some real potential while he was with him at Citeh.

Never even clicked when the thread appeared on Saturday, but SL&P said we had a Brazilian on trial with the first team a few weeks ago. Fair play. I'm sure FullerMagic will have his name by the end of the day too Fuller Magic will almost certainly know the vital statistics of his girlfriend by now! Fuller?

Tbf to SL & P, they did get the information on the Slovakian element.
Also the nickname 'John' business.
It seems they actually do have a contact within the club.
