Van gaal wouldn't appeal to me if I was a united fan. Short term vision that. Has he stayed anywhere for more than two years? Young up coming manager like simeone or klopp who would you think, buy well, and build something for more than two years.

Young up coming manager like simeone or klopp who would you think, buy well, and build something for more than two years. Look at the foundations he's laid though. The Barca and Bayern revolutions - started with him. Short term it might be, but as short term appointments go he's as good as it gets.

Collymore has just tweeted.
Man Utd have just told talksport that David Moyes is definitely NOT being sacked.
Make of that what you will!

Van Gaal has just been dismissed by an ITK journalist, as his World Cup commitments will rule him out for much of the summer.
If Klopp really isn't a runner then it's hard to think of another candidate with the sufficient credentials though.

Johan Boskamp 100/1 with SkyBet. I'd pay a LOT of money to see that.

I'd give it Ferdinand for the last three games and I bet moyes would hope they all put the same commitment in as he and his other senior players gave him.

I expect him to get another season, if top 4 isn't looking likely next year then he deserves to go.

I expect him to get another season, if top 4 isn't looking likely next year then he deserves to go. Another season? He made a horrible panic buy in summer with Fellani for 27 mil, then paid 38 mil for another number 10 when they already have 2. He has failed in every comp. He needs at least 100-150 mil to rebuild & im not sure anyone would trust him with that. However imagine he gets the backing which over 1 year will be closing into 200 mil & then he fails again, I think United would rather cut there loses now.

Juergen Klopp would be my thoughts. Should have been the original appointment IMO. Over here in France they are saying Klopp for Spurs...!!!

Wonder if Fergie knew that this would happen and use Moyes as the fall guy... He has hinted he knew it was in decline at old trafford.

Mata was a good signing for them IMO, Fellaini had been linked with Utd for years - they should have signed him earlier in the summer though rather than leaving it until the last minute - in hindsight it hasn't worked out but it wasn't clear that would be the case. I wouldn't trust him with £100m but then I wouldn't have trusted him with the job in the first place. I think Mourinho wanted the job and they should have jumped at the chance to get him. I'm enjoying their demise and I'd like to see it continue, whether that's with Moyes or they get into the routine of sacking unsuccessful managers every season like Chelsea & Spurs. I think their glory days are well and truly over for the next 5 years or so. City and Chelsea have spent big, and Liverpool will need to spend big next season with Champions League football as well. Should make for another interesting season.

With their squad of (For Man Utd's Standards) average practically mid table players (Other than one or two shining lights) I really can't see how a simple change in manager is going to turn it around for them, also I believe it is going to take alot more than £150 mil to turn them around as well..
The fear factor about them that was there when Fergie was in charge has gone, their star is fading and they don't have the clout of Champions League footy in the transfer window...
This is going to take alot longer than most of them twat fans think it is going to take to fix

The word is that Giggs would have the job until the end of the season. Makes sense. Why on earth would some berk put giggs in charge with zero managerial experience. I really don't get why people assume an explayer will make a top class manager straight away!! Its only a handful of games, whats the problem....? Its not as if its 25 games or summat.... Oh - and Van Gaal will be the next manager.....

I can't see they will sack him this year = perhaps by Xmas if they are not doing well.
Ferguson left a legacy of poor players, too old and also many who thought they were good.
Players like Jones and Smalling are not Man. Utd. class. Remember when Man Utd sold their two centre halfs to Sunderland = what have they done since leaving Man Utd.? They should get rid of Smalling and Jones and bring in class from abroad.
I reckon that Man Utd will sell and get rid of more than a dozen players this summer, and will offer Smalling and Jones while they are on England duty in Brazil?
The England manager should be aware of this happening!!!!

Funny how people think liverpool will all of a sudden be a force. They've scored goals this season yes, but ship them like no buggers business.
Ageing gerrard has dragged them through, its still jordan bloody henderson even though he's had a good season. They will need plenty spending on them as well and with gates of around 44k they will have a budget.
Their biggest obstacle will be managing it all with European football and the other cup runs that they hope will take them a lot further than this season.

I'd now be very surprised if Moyes got sacked before the end of the season - this has become a media wank fest and I just can't see Man U not sticking two fingers up at the journalists peddling this story. He may well go before the summer starts, but this would be a huge mistake, IMO, for Man Ure. Not that I'm bothered - easy come, easy go as far as I'm concerned!

I think now it's broke, and with home games coming up, the atmosphere would be a lot more relaxed if he didn't walk out the tunnel for the next home game.

cant see the board giving moyes the 200mil needed to rebuild the squad, that being the case he should go sooner rather than later . finding a manager of the required status and with top class experience wont be easy

I think this was tediously inevitable. What has this season proved? That Moyes isn't yet the manager Alex Ferguson was by the end of his reign? Well duh. Alex Ferguson at the start of his tenure didn't have the ability of Alex Ferguson come retirement either.
So Welbeck, Cleverley and Smalling have lost faith in Moyes? Big fucking whoop. Get some players who do want to be counted as being in your number. The board want someone they trust with £100m? Then why hand him a 6 year contract 1 year ago?
I say again, this was completely obviously going to happen if the Utd board were going to shit their pants without champions league football. If they weren't going to give Moyes two or threw years to learn what it's like at the top table, why hire him in the first place?

He's a decent manager, but maybe with the wrong club!!!
United are a big club and need success straight away, and season like this is as bad as being relegated to them!!!!
Alex Ferguson started badly at first but then became the greatest manager in their history!!!
Any manager needs time, but I'm not convinced Moyers is the right man for the United job, only time will tell.......if he now gets it!!!!!

I don't know how reliable the source is, or even if it's true, but I've just read that UKIP have been seen having talks with Moyes this afternoon. Rumour is that they want him to take over from Farage, apparently they're very impressed with the way he managed to get out of Europe.

He's tactically limited I'm afraid. As shown by Martinez at Everton and Moyes' own dismal attempts at getting United to attack teams with possession but no penetration. They used to scare the living daylights out of teams with pace and power, but he has taken that from them and now bleats on about possession but most of it is all slow and meaningless. Players have lost their invincibility and don't believe in him, it's pretty clear to see.
How very enjoyable!

It was almost inevitable that David Moyes would struggle at United, over the years when truly great managers have left their clubs the successors have failed.
Culis at Wolves, Busby at United, Revie at Leeds, Ramsey for England, Clough at Forest, Robson at Ipswich and and of course Waddington at Stoke. The only time a successful handover was made that comes to mind is Paisley taking over from Bill Shankly.
Moyes had an excellent record at Preston and then at Everton and was seen as a similar tough Scot, like Ferguson. It struck me though that he looked uneasy from the moment he took charge, like a guy who was in awe of the club he had taken over.
It looks as though he's on his way, but if he was a good manager twelve months ago, the chances are he is still a good manager, and should be given a chance to put things right.
If he goes the man who succeeds him will have it slightly easier, because he hasn't succeeded a legend.
