I believe they've started filming at Rothesay Avenue in Newcastle just down from Keele. Where Nello lives? Correct. Filming started at Keele on Saturday, and continued yesterday and today at Rothesay Avenue where a house is being used as the house where Neil lived with his mum when she was alive. I've also heard they've been filming at Silverdale Cemetery and this morning there were big vans and loads of people milling around (cast amd crew?) on the bend of Cemetery Road. It's like living in Hollywood.

What a shame that Sky (presumably) are standing on their "rights" and won't allow any filming to be done whilst the match is in progress. What would they have lost to allow a ten second clip of the crowd during the match on Saturday to be included in the film? Football's lost its soul!

I'm not sure that's accurate, John - it's not a Sky game and the BBC hold rights to highlights for M of D of course. But I don't pretend to understand how it works

But the BBC would hardly deny themselves the right to film for the Nello film at a game to which they held the rights - would they?

But the BBC would hardly deny themselves the right to film for the Nello film at a game to which they held the rights - would they? I bet there would be a cost involved to shoot 'extra' footage. Otherwise there would be a thread about, 'there's only one Nello' to be sung after xx minutes.

Anyone know how Wrexham is for wheelchair supporters, if there wouldn't be a prob with a wheelie in shot (and twins) and if I was free that day - or are they after traditional terrace standing fans?? You could consider me aswell then, I'm an amputee right leg missing...with a very dodgy wheelchair

Tony Curran en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Curran? The (youthful) me is being played by Greg McHugh who, among other things, plays a character called Howard in Fresh Meat. I've never seen it myself.

Greg McHugh is a funny guy - are you Scottish Malcolm? No, definitely not - Lakeland always accuses me of having a Twickers accent . I was watching filming today and the staff told me that when they were filming scenes yesterday with Greg., he definitely wasn't playing me with a scottish accent - that's what good actors can do, I suppose. In fact, the Director, Julian Farino ( a Palace fan !) would never let that happen - he's hot on authenticity. Without giving too much away, I think this will be unmissable viewing for all Stoke fans. A brilliant script; brilliant actors and a top rate Director. It will give high profile to the two local institutions dearest to my heart - Keele University and Stoke City Toby Jones, who is playing Nello, is a Stoke fan himself ( he is the son of Freddie Jones, the potteries actor from Longton, of Emmerdale fame).

I see that "Marvellous" now has its own (very brief) Wiki page. It will be interesting to see it expand as filming progresses and the broadcast date nears. link

can he do the Nello voice though?

Toby Jones was fabulous as Alfred Hitchcock in 'The Girl' , it was based around the movie 'The Birds' and the lead actress in that. Tippi Hedren ( The Girl).
