Hi Malcolm,
I have the same style scarf with red bands on each side but with black writing if that's any use. I've also got two ties from the era.

It's all systems go. They have got a production office at Keele. The "read-through" when all the actors read through their parts is this coming Wednesday in London. Filming starts I think next weekend.
I think the current plan is to film some crowd scenes, with hopefully some appropriate chanting, at one or both of the final two home games of the season. The on-pitch scenes will be done at another ground on a different date and they are looking for crowd "extras" for that - coaches will be laid on. No doubt an appeal/announcement will be made in the near future.
It will be a 90-minute film on BBC 2 which will give our Club great prominence on national TV. The 3 main characters are Neil, his mum and Lou Macari.
Broadcast date will sometime in the autumn/winter.

Pity they hadn't filmed it years ago when Dudley Moore was still alive - he'd have been a great Lou Macari!

View AttachmentIan Fulcher, the costume designer for the film has asked me for assistance with a couple of things. Does anyone have a Club tie from circa 1990 which they could lend (possibly for a small fee). Personally, I don't recall what ties were around at that time. Also, he is looking for the scarf shown in the attached photo of Neil. If you can help, please email Ian on igfulcher@yahoo.co.uk A brief update - they are likely to be filming crowd scenes at the Spurs game on 26 April with just one or two "customised chants" for the film - Stokies can sort that can't we ? ( the customised bits would be before the game, half time, or just after). They are also looking at the possibility of bussing some fans to another ground as "extras" to be the crowd for the "playing" scenes. Is that feasible ? How many stokies would be up for that ? I have one similar to this

Malcolm I've known Nello for years through stoke and working for the club, helping him out with various things on matchdays... (well him conning me to be fair).... I'd love to help out in anyway I can. He's been asking me for months to come along for filming so as soon as you have definite dates I can attend. I'm off on annual leave bank holiday week so just pm mate.

Hi
The BBC have asked the supporters council to help with the above. Here's your chance to be part of the film. Please don't reply to us, but to the BBC. Details below :
We are currently casting for a drama series for the BCC called “Marvellous” about the life and times of Neil Baldwin.
We are looking for people interested in being part of a large crowd of extras playing Stoke City football supporters; so I figured where better to ask!
The extra work is paid at £55.25 for 8hours or £72.25 for 12hours. The hours would be 2pm-1am either 8th of May or 9th of May 2014.
If you or any friends, family or club members who are interested and available on either date; please have them email me their full name, NI number a little about themselves and a simple headshot picture to robyn@bosscasting.co.uk.

I'm posting that as many people may not realise that the thread pinned at the top of the board about the Nello film now contains information on how to apply to the BBC to be an extra. Act soon to avoid disappointment.
Aplogies to admin but the name of the pinned thread really does not alert people. Click on the pinned thread for information from Angela posted this morning (29/04) on how to contact the BBC
Could people keep this at the top of the board for the next few days.
PS - you get PAID!!!!!

I believe they've started filming at Rothesay Avenue in Newcastle just down from Keele. Where Nello lives?

You will then be alerted when the thread updates. If I had simply put my post (now amalgamated above) on this pinned thread - most people would not have realised that the BBC was URGENTLY recruiting PAID extras - would they? Now you have changed the title of this thread - that helps. But there will still be many people who will not notice that the title of the thread has changed and so will not see the urgency of contacting the BBC if they want to take part. Still - you are admin and it is your board - I just happen to think a separate thread alerting people to the fact that they have to act quickly if they want to be extras is the best way to spread the word. In a day or so Angela's post will be lost in the middle of a very long thread. No problem for me _ won't be travelling down to N Staffs to be an extra - but if I did want the job, I'd hope the Oatie would do everything it could to make sure I knew about it.

Most of the extra work will be at Wrexhams ground from the feedback I've had. Bit of extra holiday money for me and a bonus that I'm on annual leave anyway next week.....

I believe they've started filming at Rothesay Avenue in Newcastle just down from Keele. Where Nello lives? Correct. Filming started at Keele on Saturday, and continued yesterday and today at Rothesay Avenue where a house is being used as the house where Neil lived with his mum when she was alive.
