Apparently he is an investment banker, no less, nowadays & he's on the radio sometime in the next hour or so, didn't catch the time sorry. Plugging his new book Goals to Gold

Yes, we did this 2 days ago after he appeared on BBC Radio 4. Not so much an investment banker as a bloke running investment courses to wannabe traders and of course with a book to sell, "From Goals to Gold". It seems like both he and his courses are getting an absolute toweling on the message boards from folks who have been on them. Plenty of folks calling him a banker and words that rhyme with it This kind of thing: "guy that flogs get rich quick courses to the public using misleading marketing" I suppose if you were to be kind then you could say that in the cesspit of people who do this false dreams stuff he is probably no worse than anyone else

Nice to see he hasn't changed a bit since his 'reputation' when he was playing for us then, apologies missed the Radio 4 thread, I don't think my radio knows where radio 4 is, i'm strictly in the gutter level.....

Excellent! Actually one of us should book on one and see what it is like, they will probably end up a multi-millionaire a few months later and my cynicism will prove to be totally misguided

I wonder how he invested the £100 odd quid he owes me? Twat. No I haven't been on a course! I looked after him sold him some kit through my shop at my cost. When he had more sfuff he had no cash on him!! He said "I'll drop it off!" Still waiting!! I sent him a letter and tried to contact him a few times message etc. This was when he played us, just pissed me off as I'm positive I got played. He knew I was a Stoke fan and traded on that. I have sold tons of stuff Stoke, the club, the players and the managers and they have always been brilliant and never wanted something for nothing. Exept him, I knew at the time I shouldn't trust him, sadly proved correct.

I used to see him all the time in Newcastle when I was at college always seemed ok to talk to but didn't like it much when I took the piss out of him after he'd had some dodgy perm.

A couple of my colleagues had to speak to him once in a work-related capacity and neither were at all complimentary about him. (obviously can't share the details etc)
I always take people as I find them personally, and I've never met him myself, but some players do end up gaining a bit of a reputation for their attitude away from the pitch.
Regardless of whether he's as nice as pie or a nasty pastie though, he will still go down in history though as Alan Ball's one good signing!

Seem to remember him playing on the wing in his first game for us. Aside from Mick Kennedy, he was probably the most thuggish of all the players Bally signed. Lou turned him into a disciplined defender.
