Always sparks a fairly lively debate, but who do want to win tonight...Bayern or Utd. Foe me Bayern every time, in fact any club against Utd no matter who they are or where they come from. The only exception to this would be if we needed Utd to beat a potential relegation side to ensure our safety...Other than that absolutely A B U.

I'm a sucker for the underdog since it almost always makes for good tele.
Hopefully the shit can put up a decent effort.

Even though its united Ill have to plump for them.
Im fed up with hearing how amazing Bayern are despite the fact that bar many 2-3 players they have the best players in their squad in the Bundesliga and nobody will ever touch them for years to come.
I like to see a shock so will regretfully want Man Ure to beat the odds. Id also like to see Atletico Madrid do Barca.

I honestly don't care. I'd quite like to see Utd crushed, just as I'd quite like to see Bayern flukily beaten by a bunch of defensive plodders.

You reminded me of an old joke - reskinned for this occasion; Q) If a Bayern Munich supporter and a Man United supporter fell off the roof of the Allianz Arena at the same time which supporter would hit the ground first? A) It doesn’t matter

Haven't those days of supporting the English club in Europe just because they're an English club long gone?
I'd like to pinpoint exactly when it happened, when Arsenal fielded a starting XI which comprised 0 British players? I remember that being a big deal at the time but nowadays it's the norm. Man Utd possibly? Everyone hated/hates them and so it got to a point where every non-Man Utd fan wanted them to lose in European matches? Or was it Chelsea and their money?
I was thinking about this the other week when i think 1 person said "as if you can want a German side to beat an English side!" Going back a dozen years ago or so, there was that same attitude of "How can you not want the English side to win? You should be in the Tower Of London!" Then at some point there was the start of the shift to what we have now which is basically, if you don't support one of the teams (Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool for example) then 90+% of people want them to get beaten in Europe.
Or have i got the mood of the nation wrong?
I dunno, i've never really felt that feeling of supporting the English club in Europe just because they're an English club. How i laughed when Real Zaragoza beat Arsenal with that Nayim cracker! In those days i'd have to keep that sort of thing to myself though, as i'd be sent to the chopping block for being a traitor!

Most of the top clubs these days are about as English as an Ethiopians scrotum with the players they field and the general fact that they clubs aren't even owned by anybody native to this country. So it's ok, it's not really treason any more than they're actually English

The English Team.
During the second world war I hated the Welsh Fusiliers, but by George I backed them against the Krouts.

I'd quite like the shit making it through. This is because when English sides don't do well in it there is a chorus of hubris ridden know alls declaring it to be unquestionable proof English football is inferior. IF (and it is a big IF) the shit make it and there are two English sides in the semis will everyone declare it evidence the Premier is better than everyone else?
