I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread so we can share ideas on how to get new songs we would like get a chance to start, saying them here is one thing but actually getting people to notice them at the ground is another...
if anyone wants post a link to this thread anywhere else there more than welcome to, such as knotfm ect.
Fingers crossed!

A few of us have been trying this for a while. Even wrote some older songs out to start. Let everyone see it.
Nobody cared, but plenty still complain

I would love it if the Oatcake (match program) ran a competition for fans send in their idea for songs, and the club get someone judge it and the winners and runners up, and say top 7 after that the club make a little booklet, and leave it on every chair at the Brit or at least on the home support seats.

You will never get good songs going until you get like minded people together rather than diluted.probably take a corner to be filled and designated singing area. Most folks dont seem bothered but grumble when the atmosphere is bad,so nowt happening really.

At the Vic in the sixties we were all concentrated together in the boothen that's why the noise was good ,now everyone is scattered around and can't hear eachother

There needs to be a thread, followed by a poll for the top ones on each thread. Then people need to get the song started down the match and all will agree on the same one

Two words. Safe-standing. (inb4 some narcissistic **** comes in stating that it's a bad idea because their arse has doubled in size since we left the vic therefore there's no need for standing anymore)
edit: why is **** censored but cunt isn't?

The atmosphere was great but I think most of them were too stoned to read. I must have had two spliffs just through passive smoking.

(the answer will be followed up quickly with a thread entitled "Seats in block 19,row.... needed for the Newcastle game")

The old Peter Thorne song for Crouch surely a good shout. You hardly ever hear it and its easy enough to get going ...
Ohhhhh Peter Crouchhhhhhh, Peter, Peter, Peter Crouchhhhhh, Peter, Peter, Peter Crouchhhhhhh OHHHHHHHH PETER CROUCHHHHHH. repeat to fade.
Easy.
Deserves a song Crouch does.

Seems to me that most 'new' songs get started at away games (where we are close together) and, eventually, permeate through at the Brit. Typical example, I hope, is the "Heres to you Asmir Begovic..." which was sung long and load at Norwich and has struggled to really grab the Brit. but hopefully it will, given time I just hope Asmir is still with us when it does!

We'd need to get the seats plugged into the mains to get people singing near where I sit in West Stand. I tried it when I first moved there and everyone stared at me in a fashion you would expect if you were to scream out God Save the King with your trolleys around your ankles and a pint of pedi balanced on your head.

And the main programme? The singing is always great at away games, maybe this could be the testing ground for some new ideas

As this is the main haunt for stoke fans online I cant see why its so difficult for a thread with all our songs to be left up at the top of the main forum for all to read? And any that seem to catch on added to it. Would be a massive help
