"Feyenoord's technichal director Martin van Geel spoke last week with Mike Guidetti, the father of John Guidetti about a return to De Kuip. He can leave Manchester City for €2.5 million in the summer."

Either way I don't think he will be staying with us, which is a shame.

We've not seen enough of him to know if it's a shame, hopefully he'll get a proper chance before the end of the season. It's tough to prove yourself in 5 minute cameos.

So roughly £2m, I doubt very much that he'd want to stay with us given his lack of opportunities.

The way we have been playing recently he won't get much chance to prove himself. LMH has him in training every day and must know if he is looking better than anyone else.

It is a shame we won't see enough of him - I think he is a talent and in the right setting he will be excellent again. I feel sorry for him, he clearly came to us on loan to get game time and due to circumstances the manager hasn't been able to give him that time.
It's not anyone's fault, it's just the way it worked out.
I would love to see him do well somewhere.

I really believe we have taken the lad on loan with a fee agreed with Man Citeh.
Guidetti needs rehabilitation from a long injury don't forget.

Maybe with next season in the Prem secure MH will consider trying out some players who have not had a chance of showing their ability in the Prem.

Really unlucky for him that Crouch found his best form in a long time when he came on loan. pointless for him really, as he won't get a start for stoke unless crouch is injured or sent off.

I think we are just clutching at straws with some of our assumptions which is fair enough I suppose , but I can't buy into this idea that he's still not fit. Surely we wouldn't have brought him here if we hadn't have believed he could add to our squad in some way. A rather baffling signing , but one which suggests that he's not quite up to the standard required at the moment. I'm pretty sure he must be near full fitness now and I doubt if we'll be making any permanent bid.

It happens a lot at Stoke with Palacios, Kitson, Gudjohnsen and Ellis etc. It's like a bermuda triangle where form goes missing!

He probably needs a decent run in the side to make any real impact, however, given the current form of our front three its very unlikely Guidetti will get in albeit any injuries occur.

In the very very short time we have seen of him, he doesnt look to have a great amount in his locker as a "modern striker"
- hes not as big and strong as I assumed he would be. So hes not going to be a Drogba or Benteke type. Hes not even a hold-up striker like Rikkie Lambert for instance.
- He obviously has never had blistering pace, before or after his injury
- He doesnt seem to have as many tricks as I expected (but very hard to judge as he had barely any time of the ball)
- He might well be a good finisher with both feet and his head.
Overall Im guessing he looks like an old fashioned penalty box finisher. Which is fine in a 4-4-2 but doesnt work in the modern 4-3-3 game where the central striker has to be either a) STRONG b) FAST or c) Hold Up player. (Or like Lukaku all 3 in one)
So Im left wondering what kind of a striker is he going to be or become??

It doesn't matter what we the fans have seen of him. What matters is what the management see of him day in day out on the training pitch.
It makes me laugh when some were screaming for him to get a run out in the side, thinking he's going to be a better option up front than our other strikers.
Theres a reason why he isn't in the team or getting on as a sub regularly. That reason is because what the management think of him after watching him in training every day and also seeing what minimal impact he's made in his few sub appearances. And of course theres how well the other players are playing in our system too.

I think Hughes loves a player with a good attitude. If Guidetti takes his benching on the chin, trains with dedication and takes what opportunities come his way then I think MH would be inclined to try and make him permanent. He's clearly got ability but he looked pretty unfit when he arrived. To be fair to Guidetti I've been impressed with his attitude whenever he's come on and he seems hungry.

Really unlucky for him that Crouch found his best form in a long time when he came on loan. A bit like when we had Shola Ameobi on loan ... suddenly Sidibe became a better player ??? so Shola didn't get a look in!!

His first touch is shocking for a premier league player and as others have said, what exactly is he meant to be?. Maybe he will turn out to be a good player but if he doesnt he won't be the first youngster who fails to live up to the hype. If he goes to Feyenoord then good luck to him, he did well there on loan a few years ago, i'm just not too arsed if i never see him in a Stoke shirt again.
