From Sky Sports transfer centre.
According to France Football, Fulham, West Ham and Stoke City are also closely following Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac - who could very well leave the Stade Velodrome this summer.

Unlike when TP was manager you could discount these rumours as someone's agent flying a kite, but these days they could all be true.
(Or then again!!)

Is he out of contract?

He signed a 5 year contract with Marseilles in 2010, so not out of contract for another year yet. Big-boned and barrel-chested are polite words for him. He is more physical than many "fall on the floor if a defender breathes on him" French strikers (yes, I mean you, you big Arsenal jessie!), but I was hoping for a bit more pace and dynamism in a new forward. He's just a poor man's Andy Carroll.

His contract is meant to be a weekly wage somewhere north of £60k a week which may be a problem.

He's like a French Jon Parkin I'd prefer someone younger and more mobile to be honest.

Likes a shot that's for sure and finishes well. However, he looks slimmer in some clips and then quite chunky in others so weight might be a problem. And he can stop that thumb-sucking business for a start-off. I trust Sparky to pick a striker who can do the business.

Still waiting on them to sell, and since that was said they have thrown astronomical wages at a player like Andy Carroll AND been given a brand spanking new stadium to half fill. They won us the World Cup didn't you know!?

I can't see this myself, don't know why. I'm expecting a central striker with more pace than this chap unless we're going to fiddle with things tactically.

OM are due a new manager soon, Anigo is on is way out after a boycott of the last home game, the 12,000 or so who turned up staged a protest the whole game, Marseille won 3-1 AND STILL GOT BOOED OFF THE PITCH. The majority of players want out so take yer pick Valbuena anyone?
