Man Utd had done it?
Centre Half pings a 50 yard cross field ball to his wide midfielder, That player instantly controls the ball on the outside of his foot on the volley, he beats his man, then back heels a pass to his overlapping fullback. The fullback sees off his man and calmly picks out his oncoming centre forward who coolly slots home from 10 yards.
What a goal that was from Crouch yesterday.

It was a classic. Shawcross played a similar diagonal ball aginst West Ham and it it wa sinch perfect.
I watched agin the highlights on Sky and MOTD and credit was given for that pass and also a couple of others out to Arnie whose control is sublime!
The second, third and fourth goals were really well created and executed whilst the first was very well taken by Peter Odemwingie!

To be fair the commentators were waxing lyrical over a couple of our goals. Not seen any rags today so can't say whether they've given us any credit or not.

Hence why Shawcross should be in the England squad.

You can't say that. Shawcross can't pass according to some people on here. It was just a long ball... he didn't mean it. Honest.

The thing that stopped it being recognised as a quality footballing goal is because Arnie's back heel was not quite strong enough, and it took Pieter's strength to make something of the ball.
The best goal was the fourth. No luck, judgement or strength needed on that fucker.

I'll bet that if it was Man Utd the Independent wouldn't have called it 'reverting to type' and imply it was hoof tactics to a 'lumbering presence' like Arnautovic.

The Sun report couldn't even contemplate Shawcross making such a pass. So said it was Cameron???? Anything to support that Eton-educated, plum-mouthed shitehawk eh Rupert?

Match commentator said it was not a long punt upfield, but a long pass.
