N'Zonzi was my man of the match today.
He was involved in all of the goals & just oozes class. It was nice to see him enjoying himself. Even when he completely messed up a shot, he wad a smile on his face. I think he's enjoying playing with better players & is so well suited to a more possession based game. Now the team is getting more comfortable with the new style, we are seeing the benefits & the potential that N'Zonzi has.
Even earlier on in the season when he was taking a bashing from quite a few fans, I still thought he was doing a decent job & kept us ticking over. But since his return from the ban he has been top class.
We really do have a decent team & when you consider the age of Begovic, Shawcross, Arnautovic & N'Zonzi then we could have an exciting few years ahead.

Yes.....we have rejuvenated our squad with better younger players , whilst the likes of Fulham have stagnated. There is still work in progress at Stoke but Mark Hughes is clearly a top manager and the man who will put this club back on the map. He is two levels up from Tone and now we are beginning to see this for ourselves. Our progress will only be stemmed by the budget imposed. I hope he's given a £ 25 million budget this close season so we can rip up a few trees and be safe by the end of next January.

It seems to me that since his red card someone has had a word in his ear about slowing the play down and not being adventurous enough, and fair play to him he's come back a better player with what appears to be a better attitude. Long may it continue. Gouranga.

I think he's on record as saying that the manager and players have told him to be more positive and look for the forward pass more, and not to be afraid of pushing forward

Superb today, and as been for the last few games. It's as if he's now focused on doing well for us and not pushing for a move

Not sure I could pick a MOM. If anyone I'd give it to Palacios but I could make a case for each one of them.

Nzonzi was more involved today then ive ever seen before. For a player that seems to purposefully never break into even a jog, how did he pop up for his goal when he was so heavily involved in the buildup? His performance and his attitude were another massive plus from today

It looked to me like a gang of lads enjoying their game, dunna disrupt that Sparky by bringing in 'fall overers'. Agudelo will do.

The simple answer to that being that we need to push on, resisting the temptation from St Peter to sit tight and 'tread water' in the hope that we can hold our own with little or no money being spent as a result. It in effect could lead to players becoming frustrated by a lack of ambition and backing from the board and make and hughes task that more difficult.

I'd hate to think that there is a danger of St Peters trouser pockets bursting at the seams unnecessarily without releasing some small change for the cause/crusade.

I've always said he looks better when he drives forward, probably because it's something he enjoys.
You can't shackle a player like N'Zonzi, or cage him. Yes he's moody but if you play him in a position and role that he enjoys then you prevent him from being moody. Look at how much happier he's been this season, especially during the past couple of games.
Full credit to Hughes for realising this and getting a smile out of the bloke!

I'm still revelling in the fact that Mark's prediction of a better second half of the season seems to be a reality.
My vision for the future is that we'll invest in the Academy and the Corners{safe standing}. Rather than buying big I'd prefer the wage structure to increase to keep Bego, Shawcross, Pieters, Arnie, N'Zonzi, Muniesa etc at our Club, rather than spunking fortunes on the likes of Kenny Jones etc... Just an opinion like. But rather than wanting to chuck a load of cash at the job I'm over the moon at the £6mill we've spent this season, and long may it continue. Well done Sparkster, well done the transfer team, well done Coates and co. I'd perhaps invest in a time machine for Crouch and Odemwingie before being frivilous in windows.

He had the Yaya swag about him today. I've felt like he has been held back at defensive midfield, but has always been very negative when going forward.
Today he always looked for Arnie and Odemwingie puls drove the midfield forward whenever possible.
I thing Palacios had a major factor in his game though. Him whelan and N'Zonzi in the middle were class. Top midfield performance

It's agood point but you can't afford to stand still in the PL and there is still room for improvement if not in the first 11 but certainly in the squad if we get injuries to key players. For me I'd say we need RB - I like GCam but I'd still get in a specialist RB - Someone like Trippier. CB - Not as pressing after the great job Wilsons done but still need proper cover. WINGER - With Asaidi off, Pennant gone, Ethers off, Kightly not good enough, Shea not good enough, I'd get in Olic and a young flyer. CF - Crouchys done great in the last few games but he's not for the long term.Aguello and Diouf or similar please.

Since his return from suspension and the 'talking to' he received from the coaching staff, I reckon he's put in his best performances in a Stoke City shirt.
Possibly the best performances of his career, since his career to date highlight is, 'has potential'.
If he still wants to leave, hopefully performances like yesterday will add a few £'s to his transfer fee.

Can anyone say that N'Zonzi hasn't been worlds better since he was dropped? Perhaps he got a bit too big for his boots, a bit arrogant? Since he came back in the squad, he's played out of his skin and his goal yesterday was exceptional. Brilliant technique.
