This is a dangerous thread and I like it. Always been Stoke City, as burge2u said "your team picks you and not the other way 'round" Don't know if I picked us, strictly speaking. My Grandad, Dad and Uncle helped. With their stories about Stoke games of old and I’ll never forget when my Dad said "Would you like to come to the Stoke match with us on Saturday?" I was so excited and we lost 3-1 to Shrewsbury Town but I loved just being there, the bug bit me.
Anyway, more reminiscing to come, I also had a "glamour" team for want of a better term.
There was something about this side, they'd recently been promoted, great name, good players, excellent manager (do I like that!), I liked their kit (when you're a kid that's important) and they were underdogs at that time.
Aston Villa.
They'd just been promoted from Division 2 (back when divisions were named correctly) in 1987/88 and had a ropey season in 1988/89 surviving on goal difference I think it was. They then had one hell of a season in 89/90, nearly won the league title, just beaten to it by Liverpool and they finished 2nd. Not bad or a side in only its second consecutive season in the 1st Division. . I watched the 1989/90 season review video all the time when it came out.
Some of their players in the early 90's were mint; Spink, Gray, Mountfield, Nielsen, McGrath, Cowans, Ormondroyd, Daley, Olney, Platt, Yorke, Cascarino, Saunders, Atkinson, Richardson, Houghton, Teale, Bosnich, Staunton, Regis, Ehiogu, Parker.
When they beat Man Utd in the League Cup final in 1993/94 I was most chuffed for them, and beating my then least favourite club into the bargain was a treat.
I carried on following their progression until 1994/95 time when I just thought it proper to follow one club and that was the one I have that emotional attachment to.
So there you have it, tales from the past and nowadays I couldn't care less about them but things were different when I was younger.

Liverpool, old fashioned well supported team. Had some great managers through the years and appear to have unearthed another. Anfield and the kop are legendary. I do like the Scousers attitude to life.
Stoke are and always will be my first love.

For me I've always wanted Wigan to do well, I hope they get promoted and I'd love for them to retain the cup.
Their owner loves the club, they have some good players and their manager is class right now
No idea why I like them

Always liked watching chelsea in the champions league when I was a kid, with the likes of zola, flo and vialli so its them for me a Villa fan and Chelsea would be your "Second team" if you had to have one but a regular on here? how come? (and that's genuinely not a dig or criticism at all, just a gen question really...wondering if it was because of a liking for Stoke or simply because of the boards) everton for me in answer to the OP

Most definitely not got a 2nd team, but the following fall into the "current Premier League teams I don't despise" category:
Spurs Everton Aston Villa West Brom Swansea Hull Norwich Southampton

Manchester united are my first team. Being from Trafford (unbelievable a united fan from Manchester) haha. Stoke are my second team. Had a season ticket for 3 years and loved it. Amazing ground with amazing fans. Let the abuse commence eeek! Much the same as me. Spent my childhood around Manchester, Cheshire and Staffs, so developed a fondness for both. Stoke used to be shit though so there was never any contention, at least until Moyes came along

Villa for me. Used to follow them thru the Saunders, Atkinson, Staunton era in the early 90s. Always look for their results after ours

Liverpool for me. I'll admit that the bin dippers were my first team as a naive child (it was the 80s and they were dominating). It wasn't until a few years later that I regularly started going the Vic with my brother and I found my home. It's good to see them doing well as I'm a fan of Rodgers.

It will have to be Norwich, only because I have memories from the early 80s (83 or 84 if memory serves) of it being the only Gold Badge I needed to complete in my Panini Album.

Wouldn't let him loose with a tenner let alone hundred million! Anyway it's good to see at least a couple of stoke fans that are United too not sure about all these ones that like the scousers though!!!!

Only team in the Prem for me is Stoke, can't be bothered with the rest of the lot. I always look for Cardiff, Sunderland, and Fulham results because I want them to get relegated.
I used to follow Wigan's results because I liked their manager, midfield, keeper, and pluckiness. But they aren't in the Prem so ....
I still look out for the results of the train wreck that is Wolves out of morbid curiosity and to remind myself it could always be worse!
