What's that old saying.."Never kick a man when he's down!". Obviously, not if he's a Man Utd. manager. What's surprising is the involvement of Sheedy at Everton. Was Moyes less admired at Goodison than we were led to believe?

Maybe it's because Man Ure's youth academy is in Essex.
RVP took the local option.

With the plans Man City have I don't blame them. You can't fault the Sheikh for what he's done there tbh.

Moyes is a good manager. He will get it right if people give him time. Unfortunately, these days, people' want instant gratification. Failing to qualify for the Champions League will cost them 30 million+ and this fact alone may be enough to seal his fate. I hope it doesn't. W.r.to developing the youth team. Is it his job? I don't think so. If the youth team coaches produce the players I am sure he will play them...didn't he give Rooney his debut at some ridiculously young age?

Milksheikh and his crew have invested heavily in the youth system. United's once fantastic youth system is now out dated i imagine. I find it hard to believe the Glazers have invested anything on that side of the game. Christ, they still play youth team matches at 'The Cliff' where Ferguson famously said was inadequate due to being open to journalists and other scouts.

From the outside, Sheedy's comments are quite bizarre. One of the first things Moyes did was instill Hibbert and Osman into the team, and he's given players like Anichebe, Rodwell and Barkley more than a fair chance over the years. It's hardly the Class of 92, but it's hardly 'no interest' either.
I also can't think of many players Moyes didn't give a chance to who have gone onto bigger and better things.

Was some of that down to necessity though? he didnt really have the biggest budget or squad to work with at Everton so probably had no choice but to use some youth players. I'd imagine Sheedy's comments are more than likely to do with how often Moyes got involved or watched their training/ matches.

Prob posted elsewhere, but a lot of the back pages reporting that it is not only the fans who have lost faith in moyes, but the players have also...And he has just got the dreaded vote of confidence from the board. Can't help feeling ( hoping ) that if they do not overturn Olympiakos tomorrow then he is a dead man walking...

Tomorrow is a very big day for David Moyes. Like you said, if Man Utd lose, I think he'll be called into a 9 o'clock meeting Thursday morning.

Nice payout heading his way if they fire him and I'm sure he'll walk into a mid to top half club at the end of the season.

They'd be mad to get rid in my opinion. Yes, they may have fallen off remarkably this season but if they expected to piss it this season then they were never going to.
It's also been an absolute pisser watching the glory hunters meltdown and wet themselves hysterically.

Rumours are rife in my household that Moyes WILL be replaced in the next week or two and by an ex-ManU player and that player goes by the name of Leslie Mark Hughes.
Just remember you heard it here first!

Old purple nose left him a load of rubbish, they should never have him in the stadium again! Oh dear. to be fair he has a point. even a lot of Man Utd. fans completely agree that the squad Moyes was left wasn't anything even close to what it had been in previous years. journalists also said this at the start of the season; the fact that Fergie ALWAYS made sure he had a group of good, young players coming through so they could slip straight in when older players finished but as soon as he decided to retire he forgot about this aspect completely hence the likes of Jones, Smalling, Cleverley being at Man Utd. nowadays.he knew he could rely on the "Old guard" for one last season and wouldn't be here afterwards so he had no need to find these top quality youngsters anymore as they may be players the new manager wouldn't want so basically, just leave it to him to sort his team out when he comes in and takes over. the quality is nothing like what they had 5 years ago for instance. there was even a Man Utd. fan on Talksport this morning saying it isn't Moyes' fault and that even last year they looked like a shadow of their former selves in terms of quality and they only won the Prem due to the failings of the other teams and nothing to do with their own quality. can't really disagree with any of it to be fair. to say Moyes inherited a "Proper" Man Utd. squad is ridiculous. i still don't think he's the right man for the job however simply because he's too defensive as a manager but i think anyone would have struggled to achieve with some of the shit he's been left with.
