His link up play and touches were superb today, man of the match by far for me, he had a massive job coming back into the side with our suspensions and he certainly stepped up. His passing and overall movement helped massively and it brought arnie and odemwingie into play more than usual. Great performance.

Played well of course but for me, everyone around me and some of the folk on the bus back, he wasn't the man of the match. When that was announced there was a lot of going on.

Ireland had a cracking game, he stayed switched on and was unlucky not to have had a couple himself... But Arnie was my man of the match, no doubt.

He played well at times. Don't forget he had 2 extremely score-able chances that he completely screwed up ! Definitely not a MoM performance imo.

A lot of great touches, he did well - MOTM could have been any of 11 today (though Bego wasnt his usual self with the stuff being thrown into the box).

Yep, having looked back i have to agree, just thought Ireland managed to offer something that we have been missing lately, let's hope he can keep it up.

Can you elaborate please? He should have buried the first chance and I'll have to see the second one again but it was a one on one so I'm gonna say he should've scored that one too. The first one he should have hit the other side of the keeper as he had three quarters of the goal to aim at. That said he was at the heart of everything we did well and probably just about deserved his MoM award.

I'd have arnie as MoM and Ireland a close second he was great and a key to both of our second goals but Arnie was everywhere again and showed class throughout.

I was questioning what he actually brought to the team before the game but all the neat interchanging of passes we had had him at the heart of it pulling the strings, such a clever player.

I also had doubts about him, but IF he can keep up what he showed today then we can push on, just a big question if he can continue on that form!

I thought Arnie should have got the man of the match, and that we could and should have scored 5. You can see the confidence growing week by week now though. West Ham didn't,t impress me at all, considering they,ve been on a good run. I thought they were very poor, and had little idea, other than the big ball for Carroll.

He did well today. Shouldn't have got motm though Arnie and Odemwingie were far better and ultimately the match winners.

I thought he was the main player for us. How he just drifts and finds space in such a crowded game is a pleasure to see.
He was involved in all 3 goals
1) Corner 2) Interchange on the wing 3) Lead counter attack for the assist
Yes he should have scored at least one. But play was a sheer joy to watch. A different beast to Adam but still a class act on his day.
Sign him up

Good game. I thought he benefitted massively from West Ham committing further up the pitch in the second half as he then had the space to make things happen.
I think he should be signed up in the summer as I do think he offers us something.

Have to agree, their only threat was Carroll and he didn't offer much except his goal! once we stopped the supply to him we battered them really.

Thought he was excellent, second only to Arnie. People seem determined to go out of their way not to praise him and I'm not sure why.

He played well today and his link play was fantastic (he could have done better with at least the first chance) but Arnie tore them a new arsehole PLUS he tracked back. No-one seems to be even mentioning Odemwingie for MOTM, if nothing else he scored twice.

Ireland well worth MOM. He constantly broke down their midfield, hurrying and hassling them, and fed our own midfield with some sublime balls. Yes, he missed two he maybe could have scored, it happens all the time. He was at the heart of everything positive and good today, and that is in no way to denigrate a plethora of first class performances all around the field today. Crouchie, PO and Arnie were a revelation today, showing what they are capable of. Whelan was a Trojan, and N'Zonzie didn't put a foot wrong. Defensively we were up for it.Ryan, we know what to expect. Wilson, worked hard and didn't put a foot wrong. Cameron, after a dodgy first half hour reverted to his quality game, and Munie, coming on for Pieters, did nothing wrong. A bloody good team effort, and every one a good'n. So hard to pick MOM, but Ireland, so long without a game came good today.

One decent game doesn't make him worth signing. He missed two sitters and apart from the two breakaways I don't think he actually did much, Arnie a much better player.
