Stoke's defence has so far let in an average of one and a half goals per game. I'm a Stoke City supporter for a long long time. If you think that is good defence you are mistaken. Ryan Shawcross has to accept part of the responsibility for this. Also let's remember that we also possess an extremely good goalkeeper who has kept that average down. It is an absolutely ridiculous myth being created that if you are a Stoke player you are overlooked for England. Ryan is loved and worshiped by Stoke fans for his effort and performance. Be happy with that!

Ryan is one of the best current centre halves in the country, if he was playing for southampton (woys 2nd fav team behind liverpool) he would be going to brazil as it is he is playing for stoke so he can safely book his summer hols. I hope that his advisors are telling ryan not to worry as woy will be sacked after we go out in the group stages, and maybe the next manager will pick players on merit.i dont want to lose ryan shawcross as a stoke city player because of woy!

The other thing is that although it is a long time since we won the World Cup England are not a poor team! Our players are respected by countries all over the world and at present we look to have a great crop of young enthusiastic and talented young players chomping at the bit to represent their country. The forward line of Sturidge, Stirling and Welbeck looked good to me and also the midfield of Lallana, Gerrard and Chamberlain saw us attacking with more pace than we have had for a long time. Could it be we actually look a better team without Rooney? We are definitely not as strong as we have been in the centre of defence but we do have players such as Jagielka, Cahill and Dawson who are better than Shawcross and then Smalling and Jones of Man Utd who are on a par with Shawcross but get the nod because they are more versatile and also have European Championship experience which bridges the gap between club football and international football.

Respected by all countries? Pep Guardiola for one would disagree. I'd imagine his stance on Wilshire goes for most England players.

Woy also said that a player wouldn't be judged in a friendly on 15 minutes, 20 minutes 45 minutes or 90 minutes. Is that right woy? Woy is a tit.

woy will be judging Ryan by his one game wearing the 3 lions, and lets be honest Ryan didnt have a good game.
since then he lost a fair bit of form, and has really only recently got it back, if he continues to play they way he has been doing recently then he will get noticed again, but to be honest I would rather be pissed at woy for not picking Ryan, than ryan have a bad tournament and his confidence drop again.

There is something going on with Stoke and Ryan. He is not mentioned by anyone out of Stoke. Danny Murphy( yes I know he's a twat too) was discussing the centre back position this morning....again no mention. Robbie Earle's column in the Sentinel is spot......Ryan has to leave if he wants England and that is the fact of the matter. It just seems like there is some behind the scenes campaign by the media and football to not recognise anything positive the club does or has going for it,or maybe I'm just paranoid.

Could it be we actually look a better team without Rooney? Yes, I've been saying this for a long long time. I honestly think we will do better without Wayne Rooney in the team.

If you watch soccer saturday from the weekend they talk about stoke and jeff stelling asks phil thomson if shawcross should be in the england setup. On the right of the screen you can see charlie nicholas look away and roll his eyes. He's been stereotyped by the media now and he'll never shake it off. Probably just sniffed at something off screen!

I hope Woy hasn't booked the hotel in Brazil for long! We won't get out of the group stage.
