When You look at some of the shit in the league then yes (at least 5 teams easily imo). But no one is too good to go down, if You go down it's Your own fault, no excuses (barring Walters ).

Yes we absolutely can go down. We are waist deep in the brown stuff.
Our form is abysmal, 1 win from the last 11.
The 2nd half of the season "bounce" which Sparky spoke about in the first half of the season hasn't and won't happen.
And with Arsenal up next week our situation may well get even worse before it (hopefully) gets better.
As for whether we are better or worse than other teams in our position I would say we are about the same.

I think it's hard to say we are too good to go down. Our away form is fucking horrendous so it's going to make it a real struggle to stay up. Don get me wrong I still think we will do it,but there is some serious pressure on the remaining home games.

It is the way we perform against the teams in the same shit as us that worries me. We are not too good to go down but I don't think we will. It really will be because there are at least 3 teams worse than us though.

I was quietly content with our performance today.
We have gone to 4-4-1-1 and it suits the players much better.
Of course we could go down, but I still think everyone from WHam downwards is going to have to keep on battling for a while yet.

Based on the squads footballing ability, then we are too good to go down. But unfortunately, a relegation battle comes down to character, hard work and plain luck as well as ability.
We've lost a lot of big characters in recent years like Rory and Higginbotham who would give everything, and replaced with better players who haven't experienced a fight like this before. We could well go down this season, but I thoroughly believe we won't.

We certainly don't deserve to go down, played well enough against a City side who average 4 goals a game. I think we'll just be fine in 9TH

We've got some real terrier type personalities at our club - thankfully - which will stand us in good stead for our next HUGE, HUGE month. I think the decision to rest Steven N'Zonzi recently could prove to be a master-stroke from Mark Hughes come March as well.

Did that team we played today or that team over the last few weeks look like the same team that had been knocking 4 past teams week in week out? We played a team today that are playing as bad as they have all season.

I think only Fulham and Cardiff look worse than us, and there is time for them to turn it around Teams like Norwich have also played well this season without getting results. All the other teams believe the same us, too good to go down. If Crouch gets injured we will be relegation certs, and that isn't because Crouch is great either, we have very limited options up front, the weakest attacking squad in this division imho

I am of the opinion that we are generally playing pretty well and we aren't far off being a good side.
If you keep playing well, it should follow, that results will come as well.
However, despite my thoughts, we have won 1 out of the last 10, are 3 points off the bottom 3 and as well as we are playing at times, the only goal threat we have comes from a fat Scotsman who generally waddles his way through 90 minutes (he had another good game today).
We don't have a forward worthy of the name which means we lose games we should draw and draw games we should win.
Put those things together and it generally adds up to a team who will be threatened with relegation if not a team that will be relegated.

Really impressed by Pieters attitude, Huth is not the only one hard as nails I can tell!

Pieters was excellent today and his amazing last ditch tackle on Toure was so good it even drew compliments from the bloke on the receiving end of it.

You can add to that already terrifying list the fact that 3 of the teams below us have a game in hand which if any of them win it will see them move above us.

is what i keep hearing from pundits including Charlie Nicholas today. Are we really?Thoughts. Been saying it for ages, I wouldn't swap our squad for any other in the bottom half of the table. That doesn't mean we're "too good to go down" as things are so tight a couple of unexpected results suddenly change everything. From the beginning of January til next Saturday is a run of difficult fixtures and we could've been even worse off than we are now if, as most expected, we'd have lost to United and beaten Swansea. It's anybody's guess what will happen next Saturday, but after that the remaining fixtures aren't too bad. My guess is we'll be okay and will finish about 15th.
