Did we really pay 2.5 million for him? How much did his agent make out of the deal to bring him here? Just imagine how many Pizzas the fat useless w4nker could have bought for 2.5 million.

You start to wonder how we'll end up getting shot of old Brek.
Contracted until the summer of 2017 on money he'll never see again and will be keen to sit tight on.
Suppose the saving grace could be that, like Edu, he's a semi-name in America so a decent salary may be forthcoming?
Otherwise he could join the Davies/Tonge/Soares 'is he STILL here' club?

Maybe it's just Barnsley that turns our players to shit?

Gary worked very hard in getting Brek to Stoke. Brek certainly needs games but at this moment in time it's not looking to promising.

Gary worked very hard in getting Brek to Stoke. I bet he did. Nice little earner.

Have we developed a speciality for buying players for £2.5 million and sending them on to Barnsley? Shea, Arismendi, Butland...

I guess we will be told that he's still not fit but (with no disrespect) if he isn't cutting it at Barnsley I'm struggling to see when he's going to make an impact at Stoke.
Another who you'd expect at this point in time that will disappear without a trace or a fee being recouped.

To be fair, he looked like Bambi the moment he got on the pitch for Stoke.

Gary (and his team) Well Gary and his team best start working hard to get him out of the club, while they are it they should be reimbursing the club for this balls up, Brek Shea is a poor footballer the moment I saw him on the pitch I came to that conclusion, makes you wonder what Gary actually saw in him.

Has anyone checked out his facebook page? Looks like the guy has issues. Why do we sign these odd ball type players?

A lot of people seem very keen to wright him off. Some with a great deal of glee.
As one person posted on that thread:
"It's a little harsh to say get rid as we haven't really seen a great deal of a bloke who only played 2 games or summat in 2013"
He's maybe shite - indeed it's looking more likely, but FFS give him a chance and don't jump on his back with a big smile shouting "I told you so".
Maybe he'd have been better off with many if he hadn't had Cartwright involved in his signing.

Call me cynical, but my gut-feel is that there were personal gains put ahead of what was best for the club here. Whatever Gary Mellor claims to be, first and foremost he's in it to make money.
I knew from the minute I set eyes on Brek, that he was going to prove to be uberwank. If it hasn't already, then time will ensure that this bloke will disappear into the annals of Stoke City history, way below the revered Henrik Risom and the like. Fucking Hell.
While a few privileged individuals did very nicely out of this deal, we got royally shafted with a shit-haired, gun toting yank who looks like he's won the chance to be a Professional Footballer, not earned it.
If this bloke carves out a career in any of the top 4 divisions here, I will eat my own arse, with custard. If he carves out one in the US and A, well, that speaks volumes in itself.

You can't beat a good old scientific approach to transfers can you? Personally, i'd stick to Pizza's if I were them...
On a more serious note, Shea or Ince? I could cry.

And folk still question why our Chairman got rid of our last manager?
If someone spent 2.5 mill of your money on that, how would you feel?

Maybe it's just Barnsley that turns our players to shit? wait there I've seen this on here! Perhaps he needs better players around him ala Arnie. Undoubtedly quality he just doesnt have the players around him to feed off it. He's definitely a future star, all them people said so when his youtube video surfaced on here.

Brek Shea deal had nothing to do with TP leaving & by all accounts nothing (or very little) to do with TP To be fair the other deal that window,Butland,by all accounts was also a Mellor driven deal & little to do with TP & we clearly have signed an excellent keeper there.

So you can apparently sniff out corrupt deals intended to line the pockets of our agents and transfer staff but Peter Coates, signing the cheques can't? He must be a doddering old fool by that reckoning. BTW, "we" didn't get shafted, it was Peter Coates who got shafted - but he's probably too busy getting the nurse to wipe the dribble from his mouth.
Please also explain how Shea looked pretty decent in the 2nd half against Fulham on his debut, and in the handful of USA performances I've seen of him.
He must also be a pretty decent con artist to have both TP and MH fooled to have him in their first team squads - based on what they've seen of him in training.

But has barely featured and hasn't remotely impressed when he has. And isn't impressing in the nether regions of the Championship now.
When exactly is it going to be ok to venture that he isn't going to make it here? Another 12 months?

When exactly is it going to be ok to venture that he isn't going to make it here? Another 12 months? When he was signed last season we were told he wasn't going to play in the short term as he was coming back off a long injury. He was then rushed into the team and looked half decent - but no where near fit enough. He then suffered another serious injury against Philadelphia causing him to miss most of preseason. So in the year he's been here, he's been recovering from a long term injury, and then missed preseason due to another serious injury. Maybe he needs a bit more time before we write him off (given that some did that at Fulham last season). Shouldn't we try and back our youngsters to see if they make it, rather than enjoy their failure?
