We've become very courteous over the past decade. I stand any opportunity i get but am mindful that there are a few rows behind me who can't see the game if i get on my feet. I'd love a standing area, it's like old school sunday league spectating and how football should be

Standing saved me a load of money, no kitchen stools, dining room chairs, sold the 3 piece suite,no loungers use newspaper on the lawn to sunbathe, took the seat off the toilet. Now looking for a car with no seats who needs to sit down!

Standing areas would be a huge step back into the past we don't need them and there's just no point. Gouranga. It's about choice Albert. If I could afford it at a concert, I would get tickets for the standing area near a stage because standing raises your energy and the atmosphere. Everyone at a concert who is sitting is always lower energy and the atmosphere lower key. I would stand every time and it seem so would lots more. So standing in some areas, seats in others - it's the way to go.

I'm intending to buy a ST for next season. It will be the first time I will have had a ST since 06/07. If there had been a standing area at Stoke in that time, I wouldn't have waited so long for my next ST. I'm sure there's other supporters who would be willing to spend more money than they otherwise would if they were for a standing area. The back rows of Block 19 and 20 is essentially a standing area.

Been there done it, it was shit then and it'll still be shit, once the novelty has worn off there'll be a couple of hundred pissed up knob heads jumping about until they throw up the 2 pints that got them pissed. Gouranga.

Gouranga. I've never heard standing up called a "novelty" before. I do it all the time. It's really not too difficult. But like anything don't over do it at first if you haven't tried it for a few years

Gouranga. We should not be denying the generations of Football fixated lunatics who follow in our well trodden footsteps the opportunity of this particular right of passage. The one's who hold the power fail to recognise that even at Stoke there are thousands who stand at games. {Back of the Boothen, a third of the South stand, and the majority of the away fans.} We're left with an uncomfortable compromise of obscuring other folks' view, at risk of severe seat entanglement, stewards who are left ineffectual in 'stewarding', and a lot more points of conflict than if you'd got designated areas where you can use yer legs. There's little choice in the matter at the moment. There does seem to be some momentum towards a change, I reckon' Clubs with large stadia {eg. Villa, Sunderland} who need a strategy to make the grounds look fuller will be pushing for this. I can't see why those who want to sit should wish to deny other people a choice, it wouldn't need to interfere with the interests of those wanting to carry on sitting.

Just wait until they get them at other grounds. That will put pressure on Coates and Stoke City to make the change, but they seem pretty set on not doing it regardless of what people say or already do. Change will take time and it will come from the lower leagues. It might take 2 years it might take 10.

Dortmund have 25000 standing. How many Stokies in the Brit??? errr 25000!!! Making the Boothen end safe standing would be easy. I have no doubt that the atmosphere would improve as a result in all grounds that did this.

Gouranga. I, and those around me, have stood at the Britannia for years, and it seems the only novelty that has worn off around the ground during that time is vocally supporting the team. Again, what you might aswell have said is that you don't give a shit for anyone else's preference, and that you and your friends can't handle alcohol.
