I haven't been on here for a while but would appreciate some insight into the failed signing of Lee Cattermole. I was pretty sure on transfer day Friday that I either had a text or heard a news bulletin indicating that he had signed, bit then of course it all fell through. In my defence I was in a situation which meant that on the day I was only able to get limited media access. Why was it thought necessary to bring this guy in, if possible. Would he be a better option than what we have for breaking up play or is the inference that we lack a competitive edge or a leader in the centre of the park. Of the players that we have, who is the nearest we have for filling the role that he would have filled, and have we created a feeling that we are missing something by not signing him. Obviously many pages of comment will have been devoted to these issues previously, but I am just taking an obvious shortcut in my quest for "feedback". Is Stephen Ireland injured or simply out of form/favour?

You mean he hasnt signed? Theres a bloke on here goes by the name of hackett who gets inside information. He told everyone not to listen to anything in the media regarding any failed signing of Cattermole, i expect to see him on the bench for us at least tomorrow night. Could be a good signing.

It's impossible to say if Sunderland had a last minute change of heart or were just stringing us along in the hope we would waste time on this deal and not do another.
I'd have thought he would have been paired with Adam if we wanted to go 4-4-2 as a better destroyer than Whelan. Or maybe we were just worried that Adam hasn't been committing enough stupid challenges this season and we were falling behind in the vicious boys league.
As it turns out; it looks like Whelan can do a decent enough job of defensive midfielder so I'm glad it fell through.

According to the secret footballer (ginger twat - with apologies to any Stokie gingers out there) in his new column on TeamTalk we had him in the building and then tried to get him to sign for less than previously verbally agreed. Wouldn't surprise me to be honest.

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest. Hasn't the ginger twat already been shown to be full of shit? That article he wrote about the KJ going on strike story being made up by the club? Then KJ admitted he refused to play.......... but he didn't go on strike

Dave Kitson The secret footballer is full of shit you mean???? this is also the man who told us all as a "Fact" that KJ had never texted Hughes about not turning up to play at the Liverpool game and then refused to back up that "Fact" with ANY evidence whatsoever as to how he knew this.....the secret footballer at times seems to act as if he has some petty, personal grievance with SCFC for some reason...can't think why, oh if only we knew who he was
