Hammarby IF, a Swedish club currently playing in the second division. Stoke City number one though, always has been always will. Why them? a Swedish 2nd division team seems quite random . Unless you're actually a Swede living in Sweden. There's a lot of Scandinavian Stokies, many of whom are on this m/b.

How many of you have a second team and why. For me , mine is Leicester, simply because I was born there, moved to Stoke aged 2 when my Old man left the RAF and got a job at the Mich.... It used to be Stoke reserves

Macc Town. Born there.
Folks moved to 'Castle when I was a nipper, Dad took me to the Vic when I was about 6 or 7, and that was that. But I've caught a few games at Moss Rose over the years. Cheap as chips, bovril and a pie, you can hear the players bollock each other. Great fun watching local, lower (lowest!) league nogger.

Maybe not quite a second team but would like to see Sheffield Wednesday doing well. Can only put it down to going to Hillsborough for the FA Cup Semi Final in 1971. Plus a pathological dislike for the Sheffield United/Colin Wanker era.

Vale, apart from being local and old enough. for it to be quite normal to support both, my cousin was captain and my mother's cousin was Tommy Cheadle.

Brighton, as my mother and that half of my family is from there. But obviously should we ever play them I hope we stuff them.
And anyone playing United.

None but understand the reasons some others have a second team.
I wish the Vale every success and don't hate any club. Although you can travel anywhere and find yourself chatting to a ManU supporter which is sickening. Why can't people be a bit more individualistic and not follow the herd?
I did hate the Revie's Leeds team who were dirty beyond belief and cheated at every opportunity, and corrupted good players who joined the club. One of Stoke's finest hours was ending their unbeaten run.

St Johnstone,
Lived and worked in Elgin and Braemar for over 6 years . Watched them climb from the bottom tier of Scottish Football, get a new Stadium to the top all on crowds of 2500

Only one team SCFC, the rest throughout the entire world/universe can do one Half of my extended family were born well south of Hanley hence all SCFC supporters, the rest north of Hanley hence Vale supporters. Weddings in the 60s/70s were an education for us youngsters, as we used to sit down each side of the room and generally scowl at each other for the whole of the night. Definitely not normal for some of us to support both, you were one or the other for life. Funny old world

Sheffield Wednesday for me, I absolutely love Hillsborough ever since the Semi-Final against the Arse in the 70-71 season. Hillsborough is a fabulous example of an old fashioned ground with a great atmosphere. Always look for the Burton result as well.

AFC Sudbury down in Suffolk. I was their 'spongeman' for 5 seasons, programme editor for 2 seasons and sponsorship manager for a season. I could not bring myself to watch Dipswich or Naaarwich or Colchester. If I can't watch Stoke its Sudbury it no one

As I was born in Aberdeen I will always have a soft spot for the Dons and its unlikely Stoke will ever play them in a meaningful fixture anytime soon.
I keep an eye on Bradford City. As a youngster I went there regularly with friends (a strange mix of Bradford, Leeds and Everton supporters) because I was to young to travel to Stoke alone and it was only £1 for kids with a voucher from the local paper, plus they hate Leeds.

lots of us went to the home games alternate weeks, rivalry but not the level of animosity there is now. You were still a Stoke or Vale supporter but most of all football supporters. I'm a lifelong Stoke fan who goes to Vale maybe half a dozen times a season and will always want them to do well. I realised that even if they are my second team I could never describe myself a fan when I was at the promotion game last season and as the fans invaded the pitch I had the sudden feeling of gatecrashing someone else's party.
