... like every other team
I think its not good to have the wind blowing the ball around at the brit - not a good advertisment and not good to watch
I think it needs to be done soon!!!

I suspect they'll do it when the ground actually ever sells out as it is.........and as our crowds are dropping and will continue to do so then there really is no point on spending millions on seats that are not needed.

I was going to say... When there are people to fill em with. On a side note there is a case for a safe standing corner with pay on the day access?

i agree they should start it this summer, as it's not just affecting the other sides play (which i can't care less ) it plays havac for our side to, but untill the ground fills up on a regular basis it will never happen imo

Yeah, let's not bother about improving the customer experience! When the wind howls and the rain pours there are very few other grounds in the Premiership that are as inhospitable. It also makes it difficult to play in and don't give me the 'it's harder for the opposition' guff. It needs doing and it needs doing quickly.

After we fill the other thousands of empty seats I'd imagine

Christ, imagine the Brit with the corners filled. Would look like the fucking Stadium of Light.
If they're going to fill the corners, they'd have to drop the ticket prices because too few people are coming at the moment.

Best performances and results for a quarter of a century and still there was no demand for extra seating.
During that run it's the best it's ever going to get and still no extra demand and no demand equals no point in wasting money.
I got a feeling that if we hold our status for this season then Coates and family will just take next years sky revenue and plough none of it back into the playing side of it.
Maybe spend a million or two then hope for the best and if it doesn't work out then the family will just have to console themselves with some £50 plus million at least.
Stands by for the abuse.

Like any expansion... when the demand is there.

Couldn't they use the three corners to erect a giant shelter that covers the whole stadium so it's always dry.

They don't have to fill the corners in with seats Correct. That screen looks well out of place and would look a while lot better if they were to box it in.

Initially just fill the corners as a shield to windproof the ground, nothing fancy.:

Wrong time to do this. We don't want the ground to look half empty and that's what would happen unless we start doing better and our attendances rise. The 'Fear' factor will go if that happens.

The best time would probably be around 11:30am, dry weather preferably.

Fear factor? What exactly is that? Jimmy, stop being so negative. The atmosphere has dropped this season (and last) no doubt, but the fact the media always go on about it and how difficult the conditions are say a lot. In fact, the atmosphere was better on Sat. Sometimes the players have to lift the croud, it's not 1-way. Don't forget, when the atmosphere is flat, we hear opposing fans chant 'Where's your famous atmosphere'? They wouldn't sing that if they didn't think we ever had a 'famous atmosphere'.

This is an old debate. Putting our "Premiership" attendances to one side I believe I'm right (certainly in my time since 1961) that our highest "average" attendances were in the early/mid seventies at just over over 25,000. From a personal point of view I would hate to see empty seats even if there was finance available. I'm sure innovation could provide options to enclose the stadium corners to help reduce the adverse effects of the weather on both the game itself and the paying customers

3 seasons ago.
Unfortunately a number of factors since have led to a decline in ticket sales. Two of them being the availability of getting seats together, purchasing match day tickets, etc.
Also, Pulisball, which caused a number of fans to not renew their season tickets. Though, to be fair they should (if possible) have renewed again this season.
..and of course the Prem novelty factor which has to large extent worn off.
Hopefully, a more exciting brand of football, some good signings (in the summer) and a run of good results will lead to a gradual increase inattendances.

I thought the latest idea was to do the South East corner only so it wouldn't look as lopsided as it does now but not going the whole hog. 1800 more 'family' seats.

It's a fucking inanimate object, exactly where is it's place? To be honest, if they did put seats in that corner, the screen would have to go anyway, so unless you're saying we box it in and end up with a corner with no seats, which will just look horrific. I know of another ground with an unfinished stand that's got no seats..... I'd rather not have ours looking like theirs.

Do it, and put the away supporters in there, so that we are attacking towards OUR fans!

Maybe it'd look better on the hill just behind.

Maybe it'd look better on the hill just behind. I don't see why it looks particularly out of place. Everyone in the ground can see it and it works pretty well. If it was on the hill behind, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to read it. I sit in block 23 so I'm a pretty good distance away and I can just make out the lineup, any further back and I'd have no chance.

Demand for seats isnt the issue - all other clubs have complete stadia Its about the wind and playing football for both sides
It doesnt look good and the brit is going to get the wrong type of bad label

The general consensus is that the best time for filling corners in is after daffodils have stopped flowering or when there isn't an 'r' in the month.

Because it would be £10m outlay for no financial return i.e. empty seats so it won't happen! Better to give the £10m to Leslie to buy a goalscorer but no guarantees of that too!
