Her last comments were made on Valentines night ,,''Why don't you tell me that you love me ?''
I replied ''Because me Grandad told me never to tell fucking lies''
Three weeks later she won the Womens European 'Gurning' Championships in Grimsby.

As a manager, Trevor Francis fined a player for attending the birth of his child. That's all you need to know about Trevor Francis as a man. ..and what's wrong with that? If you are a professional footballer that plays once, maybe twice a week then all things come second to that. It comes with the territory. You accept that you have to go to training on Xmas day and you can't have two weeks off in the middle of Feb..just like teachers who can't take holidays in term time. The incident was a long time ago and perhaps attitudes have changed now. Wasn't this on a match day (evening) rather than on a training day? It may appear mean-spirited but are you sure there wasn't more to it than just attending the birth? I don't like Trevor Francis the commentator but I can understand why he may want to fine a player who was not available for selection for reasons other than injury or death (of a loved one, not the player).

Our 'passing game' wasn't as much in evidence today. Change of system becuase Nzonzi was out and we moved the ball forward quicker instead of passing the ball to death. Far less possession yet far more effective.

I thought he was fine yesterday.
Called out Carrick for chickening out for Charlie's first goal. No problems with his opinion on Wilson's challenge on Van Pussie - Wilson's left arm was around the player. Commended good crosses from Walters, criticised bad crosses. Made the vital observation about Charlie Adam that his excellent 90 minute performance was down to his fitness.

He is what is known as a football snob. That is why IMHO he hates us. He doesn't think that we should be in the prem, along with quite a few others.

And one point in the game he commented on how he was the first million pound player. Who'd have thought. Yes, he was the 1st million pound player, they paid him that to fuck off and shoot himself ! he's a brummy piece of dog shit!

I simply make sure the volume is muted when he commentates.
Not many ex players make decent commentators so he is not alone.

Lol. A death is ok but a birth isnt? Id argue that the birth of your child is infinitely more important than any funeral... Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards

Think about where these matches are broadcast.
I think his commentating panders to other "demographics" any team other than the usual are pantomime villains.

Some years ago when manager at Birmingham he didn't come to a Stoke v Birmingham match....... when asked by a member of the press why he didn't watch the game ....he said "because I can't get excited watching a game at Stoke" I've detested him ever since. He turns up now though for some easy money.

..and even if I did, I am not sure that I would want to be at the birth. I am happy enough as it is. No need for me to explore my feminine side or seek further emotional connections. My Dad was not at any of our births (4no.)& he seemed to manage quite well going forward. After the birth you have plenty of opportunity to interact with the kid..a funeral is the last chance to say goodbye along side old friends. I am beginning to ramble now so I will sign out.

I'm no fan of Trevor Francis but I'll speak up for him on this occasion... His comment was made after we'd had 3 corners in quick succession, when bodies were flying and the ball was pinging around the box. I don't think it was a comment based on the game as a whole. He is turning into Jasper Carrot though.

The bloke definitely has it in for Stoke. I remember watching a Stoke game on Central TV in 93 and 94, he was commentating, it was 0-0 after about 20 minutes and he preceeded to lay into Steino in particular. The Golden One was on fire at the time, just having a quiet game (by his standards). Francis said something along the lines of "I remember having him at QPR, he was useless, I put him in the reserves, Macaris taken a real gamble on him" - I was gobsmacked! Lou paid peanuts for him and he scored 30 odd goals that season. He popped up towards the end to score and Francis said fuck all. Completely wiped away all my credibility for Francis as a player in one sentence.
