I think the Coates family have come to the end of the line, they are clearly not prepared to back a new manager! Surely this is time to look at selling Stoke City to someone with more ambition and funding! Thank you for the last few years but I think you have taken the club as far as you are prepared to take it.

Which one of us can tell the family to sell up?
Would you like it if someone from your street decided that it was about time that you sold your house?
Wake up!

Just being realistic, why appoint a new manager and expect him to create miracles with no money. There seems to have been a huge shift from the family backing the manager to exactly the opposite. Hughes gets lots of stick from the fans for poor performances but it is about time the Coates family took their share!

They should find a mega wealthy Stoke supporting family who own a world wide business to sell the club to, oh hang on a min....

Anyone who suggest something so stupid as this should be banned from this forum for life.
What a daft thing to say. Coates family out.. Jesus wept. We'd be in league 1 at best without them.

Doesn't sound like money is the problem.
Think on. Not long ago Swansea chairman said the money being asked for ince was silly money.
Blackpool accepted our bid. The money was there and clearly we were willing to put up more money than other clubs.
Also, Mark Hughes has never experienced problems signing players anywhere else.
Looking at what has happened here I have no doubt the board have made a reasonable amount of money available since last summer. There is clearly something badly wrong with how we go about identifying the players and approaching them, and their clubs.
Your thread should be 'Carto and his team out'. his head should roll the useless fat cunt
I couldn't stand Coates the first time he was chairman but he's made up for it this time and having spent time looking at the evidence I think he has always ensured there is a reasonable transfer budget available. Maybe not as much as pulis had, but plenty enough.

We have also bid a substantial amount on Cattermole. The money is there. Look at the supposed fucking 'transfer team' - they are the people to blame

Because the point is valid.....Coates family are popular for good reason, but if they are not willing take the club forward, and back the manager they so desprately wanted then they need to be held accountable for their actions...Not blind support cause they got us in the best league, they have done half a job....and if they dont want finish it then its their responsability to find someone who will...Instead we get the same stupid excuses and accept it because they have done so much for the club....But that doesnt give them immunity forever....and they have had two seasons not being productive....if they have lost the passion and drive then give it to someone who does.

Wouldn't we all like an oil billionaire to buy our club?
Run the club for 18 months or so. Financially ruin the club.
Then get a bit bored with his new toy, and move on to F1 or whatever his next "passion" was.
Whatever goes on in this "window" - we are very lucky to have our current owners.

Rather silly - although Peter Coates bled us dry many years back - pretty much everything we have right now is down to them
Im just truly mystified as to how we seem to be so broke right now

The thing is, and a lot has been made about this, over the last few year stoke have spent a modest amount of money for very little return.
A business model where your spend more than you earn will eventually lead to collapse, this causing further damage I.e. Administration. One extreme example is Portsmouth, poorly run club, high wages and squad numbers and very little return for who they bought
Coates is protecting, and rightly so, his massive investment and it seems like they put some sort of cap on spending. IF we remain in the prem this season I would guess we could see a small spending spree in the summer as it would be 2 seasons of big tv money which would help balance the books.
We can all shout that he needs to do this he needs to do that, thing is - it's his money, business and investment. He can do what he likes. Be thankful we have a prudent owner that seems like he and more so family are here for the long haul and committed rather than using us like a plaything. Like Cardiff, Leeds to name a couple.
