Nobody is having a go at him for wantimg to play - god knows hes get nothing to beat at the minute. Its the principle of giving an interview like that when you have literally been at a club a matter of DAYS that beggars my belief. To be honest, this has increased my opinion of him. As I said, the good (great?) sports people often are arrogant and confident. I suppose being typically English this sometimes rubs us up the wrong way. Yea - he's a big headed twat.

I like his attitude tbh. He wants desperately wants to play and he's kicking up a fuss like arrogant fuck he is. Lovely, of course he has to match it with performances on the pitch. He should start on Wednesday imo. He can do no worse than Walters. Exactly. What have we got to lose??!!!!

Once again, a twat (in my opinion). I don't know how many times I've said it though, but I am sure some people would still disagree with me. I hope he'll come good though. "If I don't feature against Sunderland we're gonna have a problem" Who does he think he is?! Jesus Christ Almighty. The quote is: "It's been two games and we haven't scored. What is the worst that can happen [if I came on], that I don't score, or … ? We have to see what it is like for the next game, otherwise we have a problem." He could easily be talking about the team not scoring. When reading it in Swedish that was not what it sounded like, mate.

Move over Niklas Bedtner your successor has arrived ! Lets hope Leslie is amenable to having his decisions questioned in public - somehow he has never struck me as the type that would be !! Well Leslie worked with him when he was at Man City, presumably that's he has brought him here, the Man city fans rate him highly, the Man city staff rate him highly (he isn't for sale), he was outstanding in his last loan spell, he is sitting on the bench watching walters ahead of him! Give him a chance, if he fails then knock him down a peg but right now I can see why he is pissed off!

What happened to the press know nothing, the press make shit up, they're all against us we don't care? Answer - we have a new manager after 10 years of the old one. I really do despair at Stoke fans sometimes. Can we just grow a pair ffs. What are you talking about? They're direct quotes. You want people to convince themselves he didn't say those things?? I don't think he said anything too bad anyway (although moaning to the press after being here a fortnight probably isn't the best way to continue) but it's clearly not fabricated.

The club 'will have a problem' - what does that infer other than 'pick me or else'. Are such veiled threats encouraged from the playing staff nowadays? Can you imagine the response of a few of the old time managers to that !!

He never actually said that. The quote has been taken completely out of context. I've read the interview in Swedish, from which it has been translated - that is basically what he said. I'll have to concede the fact that in his native tongue, the comments might well have sounded different to how I read them in translation. You'll have to forgive me though if I take your word with a pinch of salt, given the quite personal abuse I've seen written by yourself about him before now.

All I care about is that he gets on the pitch because he can't do much worse than the shower of shit we have up front at the moment. Just play him Hughes - hopefully he can walk the walk.

We often talk about "clutching at straws" on this MB.
Well as regards this thread, the OP is really doing just that - to find something to moan about.

Well for what its worth rompindonkey your opinion is utterly wrong. Im just astonished that he thought such an interview appropriate and is not very respectful to the manager but hey perhaps Im old fashioned.

But basically, what he said was that if he doesn't get to play "we're going to have a problem here". I'd be lying if I said I knew exactly what he meant by saying that - but in my opinion he is in no position to express himself like that. He was ill three days straight before the game as well, wasn't he? Also, had not Pieters picked up his knock - I'm sure MH would have given John the chance, just like he did against Palace. The boy needs to calm down and have a bit of patience. By the way, I spoke to his father who was at Selhurst Park last weekend. He agreed with me that it just wasn't good enough - I hope Guidetti might be able to change that somehow though.

Compare it to the Sentinel article containing the same quotes.
Sensationalist journalism at its worst.

I'd like to make 2 observations:
1) During my life (I'm an OAP) whenever I have seen things reported in the media that I have has personal knowledge of, the media report has never been 100% accurate. It has been very close on a few occasions but usually has numerous inaccuracies in what is reported.
2) I can remember an occasion a reporter interviewed a player and put words in his mouth. He said (I paraphrase) "You might as well tell me what your actually thinking because we will print what we want to anyway". The media are very clever at writing things in such a way as to avoid libel. The rules for what can be published on the internet are very vague and difficult to enforce. (Luckily for what some of you guys write on here!) The case I have in mind was a player who kept getting dropped from the first X!.
I should be very wary of anything the media say. They are in business to make money, which sometimes means making the news not just reporting it.

I'm sure most of us know this, most Stoke fans want from Guidetti is goals, at the end of the day he isn't even a Stoke player so really its a no lose situation unless he is a total bell and upsets the dressing room.

Apparently he had a stomach upset. This is the original article: www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/premier-league/guidetti-forbannad---jag-forstar-inte-riktigt/" It is clear that many people want you in the game, have you noticed in aid of, for example Twitter?I got an incredible amount of positive feedback after the last game. It felt good. But like I said, ten minutes against Crystal Palace and everyone still thinks I did it damn good. Then consider one well that you might be given the chance again. Had we thundered into goals, they might have understood it I know I've been sick to stomach, but it is not risking anything by ten minutes, it's a cup game as well .. It does not matter that we let in another one. I think it was a bit like that, you're angry, I do not quite understand." With the media twisting words and the chance of it all being lost in translation anyway, who knows what he actually said...

Well, the most fun part of all this is that the article seems to be written after an interview he did for swedish tv after the game... word by word. So it's probably available on some video clip somewhere. I saw it, he just about said what the article says, but he is no arrogant twat really. Part of misunderstandings occur because his language is swedish and things might sound wrong in another language every now and then. Cause you don't know all the right words to say, if English isn't your first language. But he'll pick up more correct words naturally in a year or so and learn to notice the nuances.
Hopefully he will get some more time on the pitch on Wednesday. He has played on U21 Swedish Level, but because of the nerve inflammation caused by a virus for 1.5 year I haven´t seen him that much. So he is kind of new to me too actually. He wants to impress the Swedish team coach and get to play in the European Qualification games so he is eager to play. He also had a dream of playing in the FA Cup so of course he was a bit disappointed.
