Am I the only person who quite likes the idea about a gobby fan getting it straight from the player he's been abusing. I'm assuming of course there was a reason the player went for a specific fan.
Personally, I'd like to see Atkinson ref a Goole game.

Only a matter of time before another cantona-esque incident

It's being reported that the fan he went after was actually there supporting Goole. The player has been sacked and it was exactly 19 years to the day of the infamous Cantona karate kick against Crystal Palace.

I see the lad gobbed off, gave it the arms, and in true 'top boy' fashion, shit his pants when he was confronted

What a pisser, i've watched a lot of non-league football and some of the abuse the players get from pissed up blokes in the stand is incredible (lets not even go near league football in this regard) but did the bloke honestly thing he could give him as much as he wanted and the player would just have to accept it because he's a football player?

I remember one of my mates once constantly gives Kenwyne abuse at matches and slags him off now end, but when Kenwyne walked past him before a away game he was after his auto graph and got it and had a photo arm round him and everything

I know this player from Sheffield FC.
He is a complete nutter. How the hell he was made Captain is beggars belief.
He was also sacked from Belper for assaulting one of his team mates
He has changed clubs in non league football well over 20 times and is still only 26 and this was his 3rd or 4th time at Goole playing under Curtis Woodhouse who is a pro boxer!

No excuse at all for the player who is as described by Spit, a complete cock. However don't underestimate the part played by Coalville supporters in this. They are most unpleasant and among their number are banned from League football grounds members of the former Leicester Baby Crew. Here are a section of them at Goole yesterday. Some faces may be familiar from days of old at Filbert Street. They are due at Newcastle Town in the next few weeks. Last seasons game ended in a twenty two player punch up and four sendings off as Coalville took Castle wrecking their championship hopes rather badly. Looking forward to that one.

I'm probably ignorant of the law but isn't smoking an offence in a public place ? (e.g. can't smoke in the stands at the Brit ) and beer on the terrace itself ???
Obviously I'm jealous (of the latter not the former )

Quite agree about Coalville...their players and fans are a cynical, unpleasant lot........and I think there is history between this player and Coalville too. One of the Coalville players started a punch up in the Sheff FC pub after the game last year.

He makes some fair points, especially about those morons who follow Coalville. They should really also be brought to task, and Coalville should take some responsibility.
The player will have to take his punishment, but I have witnessed their antics first hand and its not on giving the kind of stick they do to guys who are playing for £100 a match.
There are no other supporters in that league with the same mentality. It's quite pathetic.
