The fact is we didn't get him at the beginning of the window, looks like the opportunity has passed us by!

Rumours all over the internet that Monaco are set to sign Vucinic from Juventus to replace Falcao, so we might still sign Rivière

The right price will get him. Depends how much we want him/are willing to spend. I would like to see us push the boat out on this deal. He would be a marquee signing, give the club a boost. All signings are a risk - he has been scoring goals at a good standard of play and seems to have some pace. Better than 2 "maybes "for £8m plus imo

Question "Rivieri?" Bowen: "It's like the case with Sunderland. People see them bringing in a midfielder and think it's a simple case of one in, one out...
John Percy Mark Hughes absent from this afternoon's pre-Manchester United press conference, which suggests Lee Cattermole could be heading down from Wearside to hold talks with Stoke. Mark Bowen has taken over press duties and confirms discussions are being held over a potential deal for the Sunderland midfielder. Bowen said: "He's a player we've admired for a long time and we're talking to Sunderland." Admits the club is also trying to strengthen the squad in other areas - but rules out move for Monaco striker Emmanuel Riviere.
