I put a bet on it that he would be the first Premierhip manager to go after a tip off surrounding his 'personal circumstances' (i think i mentioned it on here)
I'm guessing this was the reason why.

Wow - I didn't know of anything.
first his mum dying and him turning up to the game, and then this..
As much as I thought it was right for him to go, I will miss some of his brilliant characteristics around the club.

Yes, a lot of those who knew the details thought that last season would be his last at Stoke because of it. In the event the family seem to have got through it, thankfully. It is another reminder that football isn't more important than life and death - whatever Bill Shankly said.

Well done for highlighting this.
It did get a mention in one of his recent interviews as his daughter and son in law are planning to take part in the London Marathon later this year

Not least his concern for those less fortunate than his highly privileged charges and most of us.

After all TP and his family did for local charities a few quid for this is the least they deserve. C'mon Stokies, lets help smash their target.

Dry up Twiggy. This is a thread about charity and personal tragedy and you are making it into another argument. H

Not really the place is it...and It looks to me like you're the one spoling for an argument. Back on point it looks like they'll easily smash their target with us Stokies on board now too hopefully. B Well it would do for you. H

No matter what you thought of him as a manager there's no doubt in anyone's mind that he's anything other than a proper bloke.

I remember there were rumours at the time.
The fact that this is the first we hear of it surely suggests, yet again, that we were very lucky to have a man like Tony Pulis as our manager.
Leaving aside his preferred football style i can't see how anybody could fault the way he conducted himself as our manager.
To come through personal tragedy like that in the way he did is pretty inspiring.

Just donated a few quid which seems like the least we can do. You might want to take care to avoid the pink smiley faces coming up against your donation though, like they did on mine. Not really the time or the place.

Sad to hear it detailed but I was aware of it last summer and alluded to some problems on here when mentioning a delay in Pulis returning from his Summer hols and a delay in some transfer talks.
He very nearly resigned at the time. I believe he was talked out of doing so.

Since this was highlighted on here over 30 donations totalling nearly £1000 have been made. Mixture of mainly Stoke fans and some Palace fans have been donating. A tragedy like this crosses divides and unites people and I agree it would be great to exceed the target of £5 k. Also nice to see the Port Vale fans site have also donated.

I don't think anyone would question the strength of Pulis's character and this just cements that view. Dealing with that kind of loss while trying to do your job must have been a hell of a strain.
Puts everything into perspective.
