I've always been a fan of Adam but if we can sell for a good price, I would be more than okay with it. We have Ireland, who honestly has been playing at a level comparable to Adam this season, and maybe we could go after Dusan Tadic, who we were at one point or another linked with before the start of the transfer window. Tadic is a serious talent and would be a great signing to replace Adam. Of course I'd love to keep Adam, but I think we'd find a way to still come out on top if we did sell him. How much would Tadic be? Its all IF and BUTS every player is replaceable for the right money BUT look at the crazy money Spurs got for Bale. They then splunked it on a number of players who all looked quality at the time, but in the end they dont quite fit for one reason or another. We got a guy playing well and finally fitting into a system well. Who is to say a new player coming in will be half as effective. Last I saw Tadic was being rated at 10m euros. Again I've always been a fan of Adam (I'm not somebody who just started liking him this year now that he's playing well), but the truth is there isn't really a dropoff from Adam to Ireland (in fact it may actually be an upgrade). Ireland links upp much better with the other players on the field and is much less of a defensive liability (except the Fulham game). You don't have to worry about a card every time Ireland makes a tackle the way you do with Adam. Ireland may not be fit enough YET to be 100% effective for a full match, but until very recently neither could Adam. Think about this realistically, replacing Adam with Tadic (while we also have Ireland as an insurance policy) wouldn't be bad business at all. The only problem is if we sell Adam and don't bring in a playmaker to replace him

Another point to consider is that it may be better to retain quite a few players who have been the backbone of our team / squad.
We cannot afford to introduce too many players who have not played together before - we need 11 players who will quickly adjust to being in the same team.
Adam is an important member of the squad.

Touche. He certainly isn't the best defensive asset, but at least he won't get a card haha

From the club's point of view, unless we can get a significant upgrade on a goal scoring MDF-er (also one that doesn't tackle with the finesse of a JCB) and bearing in mind, these don't come cheap and attracting an upgrade this month might be tricky, then, it's a straight no.
From Charlie's point of view, a significant deal upgrade plus all the Turkish Delight he could eat (presumably a lot), then maybe?
Doubt we'd get ano chance to get our money back though.

We'd get our money back if his goals keep us in the Prem

Bean counters like Scholes will still be able to sleep more easily if it says bought for x / sold for x plus profit y in the ledger.

But a higher finishing place in the league and the revenue involved may be worth more. He needs a column in his spreadsheet to reflect this!
