We put in 51 crosses (including Corners) in today's game.
Fucking mental.

Quality header too.
I still don't feel we genuinely tested Mignolet enough with them though. He's a proper flapper and he only flapped at one or two. The rest probably didn't beat the first man.

Did any of them go more than 2 foot off the round, asides from Arnautovic's?

51 crosses, a record high for ALL teams in the Prem this season. Crikey.
But to achieve that, we lose a LOT defensively.

I suppose so, but the Great Wall of Pulis had to be broken up to make the transition from 51 hoofs to 51 crosses. Ironically if Pieters and Wilson did hoofing instead of mishit passes, we'd have won that.

51 crosses but too many were too poor. Arnies to Pete was beautifully flighted but opverall they were crap

Pity our best header of a ball was not even on the bench!

Most of them failed to beat the first man though, well 1st half anyway until Arnie decided to get in on the action. Adam shouldn't be let anywhere near a corner kick again

51 crosses and only 1 goal resulting from any of them is just not good enough.
Why cant we score from corners anymore?
We have started scoring from open play but cant from set pieces anymore. its like the polar opposite to Pulis team. Im actually craving a nice Huth/Shawcross goal direct from a corner

Agree about Adam & corners. Out of his first three two just reached the first man and one screwed harmlessly out of play. Even his free kicks were scuffed. Great goal though.

Arnies cross for Walters goal was sublime. Agreed, it was a great ball, as was his cross for the first goal. But overall even though we got 51 crosses in I thought that there wasn't enough quality. Quality in terms of the ball in and also quality in terms of players movement in the box to get on the end of them, plus getting bodies in there and also picking up the second ball on the edge of the area.

Still too many crosses when the recipients are static in the area and aren't moving properly.

Crouch ALWAYS goes to the back post when he makes a run (I mean jog) into the box.
It is interesting that his goal came from being at the front post for once - which was only because the play was switched from the other side and Crouch had not changed his position.
Its my biggest issue with Crouch. The management need to tell him to run near post some of the time. That way at least he keeps his marker guessing and is more likely to get a free header.

51 crosses but only 12 found a Stoke player.
Think we need more bodies in the box!
