All through the summer they wanted this guy & still now they do, if 5 million euros is the asking price then just pay it & have done with it. Its still 2 million cheaper than what Hull are paying for Long. Yeh lets start over spending on everyone. No 12 million for Crouch was overspending, its obvious Hughes has been after him for ages, 4million is nothing to a team that's been in the top flight for 6 years. They hardly spent anything in the summer, and haven't done yet, & surely if Diouf is in fact this 'main target' I don't see the issue.

Yes 10 mil for Crouch was, so hey lets not learn from that, lets carry on doing it.

Yeh lets start over spending on everyone. If we sign him for €5m and he does well, firsty he'd have helped us make that back in league money, secondly his value will shoot up, so we'll have resale value. I think its worth a risk. Should we let his contract run out and try to sign him, I doubt he'd come us as I'm sure a lot better clubs than us will make a move for him on a free. His value will only shoot up if he does well, and there is no certainty that he will, personally I don't think he is worth the risk, I didn't in the summer and I don't now, but if we sign him of course I hope he does well, but we should not be over spending on any player however much the manager wants him, we have a budget how ever small/big and we should be sticking to it.

The trouble with him maybe, that he knows he will get a whopping signing on fee in the Summer and wants the same now. So that would be £5million to the club and probably the same to the player, then it does start to get expensive.

Isn't that about £4M? Doesn't seem to be that much if we really want him! I know his contract is running out this summer and I don't know if we have reached some kind of agreement with him, but if he goes somewhere else because we didn't want to pay £4M+ for the striker we have wanted for so long it's hard to understand! If we get £1-2M for KJ the gap will be around £2.5M which in today's market doesn't look that much really!? There must be something else here I think? In summer he will be free to go anywhere and ask for a good signing on fee, in the meantime he could (hopefully) be scoring goals. A few places up the table due to his goals would more than compensate. So you say it's the player holding the deal up and not the club?

He got the Assaidi one right. I was told something about that pretty randomly and it more or less tallied with what Hackett was saying and then happened. So he either made a good guess or knew something on that one. That's why I'm giving him leeway rather than the usual piss taking! You seem to have a selective memory. What about Michael Owen, Kightly, Arnautovic, and Guidetti/Ireland. Plus when everyone was believing the Hunt bollocks I was the only one on here who called it as bollocks right through even when Spinks got hold of it. Selective? I never knew those miracles occurred!

Just that in summer he will be in the driving seat. At present he still has contractual obligations to his club. Clearly the idiot chairman who is messing about, and his agent who keeps fanning the flames.:
