As 2013 becomes a fading memory, we want you to help us recognise the player of the year. The difference between the traditional player of the season and ours, is that the 6 Towns Radio Awards one will be based on the calender year of 2013. Will it be Skipper Ryan Shawcross the current holder of the award (see his award collection video on the link below), fellow defender Robert Huth who's put in some solid performances in defence, midfield stoppers Steven N'Zonzi and Glenn Whelan or the reliable last line of defence (and goalscorer) Asmir Begovic. Geoff Cameron has also been in great form making him a strong contender. Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 12th January 2014. For more info and How To Vote check STOKE CITY PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2013Votes can be cast via Twitter, Facebook or Email. Votes on our Facebook site www.facebook.com/6towns will be registered along with votes cast via email to awards@6towns.co.uk - Please use SCFC Player 2013 in the subject line Votes via twitter to 6townsradio can also be cast using the Hashtag #SCFCAutonet and will be subject to verification

Bego. Difficult to take in accounts Jan - May as we we're complete dog shite. But Bego has done consistently well with few errors.

Asmir Begovic - a world class goalkeeper who saved us from relegation under the TP january-may 2013 Horror and our undisputable best player under MH.

In reverse order....
3rd Place: Geoff Cameron: Has improved drastically this season under Sparky. Very solid defensively and has come on leaps and bounds going forward. Probably our most improved player and, if this was just from August, I probably would have put him second.
2nd Place: Ryan Shawcross: Our defensive rock. He is probably one of, if not the best english centre-half. Has adapted excellently to our new style of football when some would of thought he would have struggled.
And the moment you have all been waiting for...
1st Place: Asmir Begovic: Kept us up almost single-handedly at times last season and was the only player that didnt fall away after christmas (we would have lost by 5-6 at Arsenal last season if not for him). Has continued his fine form this season (in particular first game of the season away at Liverpool and home to West Brom) and has undoubtedly been our best player AND the best goalkeeper in the Premier League by a country mile.
Finally, special mentions...
Oussama Assaidi: Since getting a good run of starts, he has shown his class, scored 3 superb goals (and another one in the cup) and looks a real threat for us down the wing. I just hope we can manage to persuade Liverpool into keeping him on a permanent basis.
Charlie Adam: Was poor for the better part of last season, but came in and scored a crucial goal against Norwich and we are starting to see the best of him.

Tinhat firmly on - I believe Crouch has done a great job over the year. Plays a lonely game up top on his own and whilst never outstanding, I rarely see him have a bad game and when he does its normally a tough game where we rarely see the ball against one of the better teams in the league scores some important goals too.
1. Bego 2. Shawcross 3. Crouch 4. I'd be struggling - GCam been great so far this season but I cant think of anyone else who sticks out over the year, perhaps Huth?
