Risky appointment in my opinion, he's done well with Molde but in a very weak league.
How do people think this will pan out- we've had Scandinavian managers sacked after short stints at Wolves and Blackburn recently.

Dead man walking ....
Please move Cardiff over to the "nailed on for relegation" category. Vincent Tan is the best thing that ever happened for Stoke.in 2013-2014.

Not enough time for ole imo he's the arry of this season. Shit management at the top leaving a manager at Jan to turn it around. At least the capped one has a decent squad. Bardiff look odds om to go down with Blunderland. It might be the best thing for Big Sam and TP in their relegation fights.

Will be very interesting to see how he does, don't think he's any more risk for them than anybody else they could appoint. There were a few on here who wanted him as Pulis' replacement and thought he could have been worth a go myself. More than happy with Hughes though! Will be funny if things don't go well though, watching this Tan fella press the Self Destruct button again ;D

They must have offered him megamoney to take the job as the rumour is Sir Alex Ferguson called Solskjaer up and told him to avoid it. I honestly can't see any other reason he'd take the job unless he was on an insane salary.

I honestly can't see any other reason he'd take the job unless he was on an insane salary. If he does well he will get the credit, if he fails Tan will get the blame and he will get a big pay off. A manager can't loose in this sort of situation.

How do people think this will pan out- we've had Scandinavian managers sacked after short stints at Wolves and Blackburn recently. With Vincent Tan as owner, I think he may end up as Solbakken and Berg, both axed because of impatient owners. Berg doomed with Venkys running of Blackburn. Solbakken not given the time he was promised, and didn't do too bad, in fact it was worse after he left. He never got the second transfer window as he was promised. With the money Solskjaer is said to be given, he has a good chance to stay up, but what will Tan expect of him after this season. I would never have taken the job at a club with owners like Tan or Venkys. I dont't think it helps if you are British or Scandinavian, and I don't think it would have helped who you were at Woves or Blackburn either, with what you had to wotk with, both owners and players.

I know he's going be a media darling I think he already is even though he has limited management experience the media have often touted him as the next great thing and is usually linked with every prem vacancy. Maybe being an ex shit player might have something to do with it. I am hoping for a spectacular failure sending Cardiff back where they belong

I genuinely have no idea why he is getting involved. He's got a great reputation in Norway and is well known in England from his time at Man U (where he also coached the reserves). Why bother with a club where the owner probably wants the job himself
Nothing to gain, everything to lose.

As already mentioned, if Cardiff survive he'll get the credit, if they go down he can blame Tan so it's more like he's nothing to lose and a great big pay packet to gain.

I know he's going be a media darling When he was with Tan at Arsenal on New Years Day, I am sure that he sent Tan to get a bag of sweets for him part way through the game.

Solskjær is certainly a very level headed guy, and nobody seems to have a negative word to say about him. So he is a very likeable guy in every way really. He knows where his roots are too, and participated in the campaign for the Norwegian Labour Party in our last election for the Parliament here in Norway. He certainly is no fool so I really think he likes this challenge and sees it as a good opportunity to show what he is made of.

Why bother with a club where the owner probably wants the job himself Nothing to gain, everything to lose. But after 10 years as a player as Man Utd I'm guessing he is financially secure for life. Lostinafrenchbar might be closer to reality. I thought he'd go to WBA
