Without wishing to jump the gun, today may have been Sorro's last appearance for Stoke and might signal the end of his professional career. An outstanding player and servant to the club. His Cup Final performance was a particular highlight.
Still, at least now he can spend more time with the wife.
All the best, Thomas.

Tommo suffered a reaccurance off an old heel injury he had problems with last season. 11 days before the Liverpool game so he should be okay for that. As for his last game of his career.. . WTF?

I'm being premature really but I heard it was his Achilles, which sounds like an actual injury rather than just a bump or illness. That would put his recovery later than Begovic's, and if Butland impresses he may not even get #2 back.
EDIT: Last game of career because he's already said he doesn't want to drop down a level to prolong his career and his contract is up in the summer.

I'd give Butland a start v Leicester then see how we go from there. If he plays well then I'd rather have a good look at him for the next few weeks with a view to next season. Tommy doesn't fill me with much confidence these days.

Was said to be an Achilles heal problem, no mention of how serious yet but it won't go away altogether very quickly. Last game is a bit much though.

I thought Butland's distribution was good today.

He's just put on twitter that he has a scan tomorrow. If its bad news and a spell on the sidelines do we sign cover for a month to back up Jack?

Would guess we will sign a free agent (rather than a loan) on a short term deal. Either that or - shock horror - promote Bachmann to the bench for two or three games.

I've lost count of the number of times he's been subbed in the game, or withdrawn in the warm up. It can't all be a coincidence.
Edit. The Sentinel have just said this, I assume it doesn't include the number of occasions he's pulled out in the warm up?
"Sorensen's misfortune is nothing new for the veteran Dane because he has now failed to finish, a Premier League record 13 matches during his English career with Sunderland, Aston Villa and Stoke"
